Since moving back to the Quad Cities a few years ago, I've definitely felt this part of Kimberly in Bettendorf that's seen better days. The bookstore nearby is no longer there, Fortune Garden, one of my favorite Chinese restaurants, is also gone, and many of the spaces further north and west along the road have changed several times over the years. The Treehouse is a bright, newish looking spot along this road and I figured tonight was as good as any to give the place a try. Upon closer inspection, the Treehouse definitely seems sharper than from further away on the outside. This continues through into the interior, which features wood tables, chairs and a largeish bar area. There's further dining spaces located out back, both in a large common enclosed area and even further out, individual clear plastic igloos with heating located within. They honestly look kind of fun - something I might want to try at a later date. Since I was dining alone, I opted to sit in the bar area at the bar itself. The area is adorned throughout with wooden walls covered in TVs playing various sporting events. Beer signs and different bicycle or nature related decoration also line the walls. The area behind the bar was covered in a textured stone backsplash and lighting features placed behind some of the higher shelf liquors. Though the ceiling covered any sort of structural elements present, the cylindrical HVAC ductwork was exposed, discharge vents and mixing boxes both. Most prominent near the bar, however, were the large stained wooden beam/supports. The name "treehouse" definitely fits with the design elements both inside the restaurant and outside. I talked a little bit with the server behind the bar to figure out what to order for dinner. She recommended one of the pizzas, burgers, or sandwiches. Between those and the appetizers, it was kind of hard to make a decision about what to get (way to many options). I ended up getting a gin and tonic and a pizza. The pizza came not long after ordering. I think I got the pizza titled "A piece of the action"? I don't really remember. At any rate, it was pretty good. The crust was pretty crispy - it didn't have the buttery full flavor of like a Chicago Tavern style pizza (a favorite of mine) but given the ingredients, this was almost better. The structure but lesser flavor of the crust allowed the ingredients some room to shine. This was a good thing - the sausage was tasty, I felt like the onion and green pepper did more than just exist on the pie - not bad all around. Not my favorite pizza in the QC area, but definitely solid and its own thing unto itself. The music complimented the entire experience as well. The choice of genre, a mix of 70s and 80s rock, was something I can always get behind for a bar/restaurant like this. Plus, it was playing at a level that was conducive to conversation at a normal volume. The Treehouse gets this right, at least on this day. Between the good pizza and the eclectic atmosphere, I'd come back for another go. I kind of want to try one of the burgers or sandwiches and possibly eat it out in one of the igloos (they just look fun...). Thanks for a good meal Treehouse, I'm glad you're making Kimberly Road a better place!

I would like to preface that my partner and I moved back to the area and with doing so, have made it a priority to try new places in the QC. My partner does have a degree in the culinary arts and has been working in gourmet kitchens for the last four years. This isn’t mentioned to be snooty but rather to give our review more credibility. Before we focus on food, we did want to make sure that we noticed that the service was great! Our server Jacob was attentive and pleasant. Even with a cast on his foot, he worked extremely hard to keep the restaurant clean while simultaneously checking on us and other tables. We had heard some horror stories about the poor ownership but never of the food. Since we are set on trying new places and were in the area we decided to give it a try! This was definitely a mistake. We were sat and chose waters to start off with. It didn’t take long until after we opened the menu that we realized that the food was not going to be all that great especially at the price point. We had a movie that we needed to catch so we decided just to split a meal and went with the Bacon Mac and cheese burger since it was an option that gave us the opportunity to try several food options (bacon, “prime rib” burger, the four cheese macaroni, and the fries). It took over twenty minutes for the food to come out to us yet it was barely lukewarm. The fries were hard as if they had either been cooked for way too long, recooked, or sat out. We have a hard time believing that the Mac and cheese is actually made in house and made of four cheeses. If it is, there was no flavor or seasoning. From the looks of it, the macaroni looks like boxed velveta shells. Now, by other reviews, the owner claims that she is the one in the back of house cooking. This is fine and dandy but they may want to find a chef de cuisine to bring some more life and flavor into their menu. Obviously by the large crowd that was there, many people disagree, but that does not change our food experience. I’d also like to touch base on the owners love for pepperoncinis. The pepper has great flavor and can add a lot to a dish, but we noticed that it was added to pretty much every option. Including our burger. I’m willing to say that my view on the flavor is wrong solely because it was truly hard to taste anything other than the strong pepperoncini taste. On the way to the bathroom my partner walked past the kitchen and commented about the lack of cleanliness. Just by glancing in, the stove was so dirty that it’s hard to believe that it had been properly cleaned, there were pots and pans all over the place and the floors definitely didn’t look taken care of. Now this is just here-say on our end but that alone was enough for us to decide that we won’t be coming back. We have not met the owners and do not know them personally but from what we’ve heard from other reviews and word of mouth, we truly don’t think anyone should waste money here. We made the mistake ourselves and other than our server, we were not pleased with Treehouse at all.

Okay, so I found this place on google maps when searching for a good sandwich shop so my fiancé and I decided to stop in and we are both extremely glad we did!! It’s not often I give 5 stars across the board but this place delivers in all aspects. Our server, Jack, was very polite, attentive and stayed busy, he made sure we got exactly what we ordered and he did so very fast! I’m impressed with the quality of food they can produce in a relatively short period of time. In fact, I didn’t expect our meals to arrive as fast as they did!! And holy s**t!!! That burger was legit the biggest one I’ve ever attempted to consume! For the first time in my entire 47 years on this planet, I had to use a fork and knife to eat it. And yes, I squished it down as much as I could and still needed utensils. It was delicious!!! Cooked perfectly with a hint of smoke. The bacon was on point, the burger was on point, the entire experience was on point! And trust me, read my other reviews, it’s not an easy task making me this happy! Don’t sleep on this place, definitely give them a try!! I do have just one small complaint and that is, there is a table in the middle of the isle that when people are seated there, it’s impossible for a guy my size to get to the bathroom without disturbing one entire side of the table. I’m not sure if they have a second restroom but if they do, my bad. I had to hold it until we left and stopped in at another store. Aside from that, I think their drink menu’s could use a good cleaning. Ours was a bit dingy and made for a not so comfortable first impression. Aside from that, the restaurant appeared to be clean and well kept, again, I didn’t get to use the restroom so I’m not sure how clean it is. But that’s my review. All things considered, we will most definitely be back!

Anyone who knows me personally knows I say it as it is. I am straightforward and even blunt at times. If I leave a review you should know it is honest and sincere. I will say…I do not think I have ever in my life written a review as good as this one will be. I stopped in even though the lights were down low…hoping they were not just still open, but serving food. It was late and we were very hungry. I popped in and asked the gal behind the bar if by chance the were still serving any food? Fully expecting to hear a no as a response. She smiled and turned to look at a gentleman sitting at the bar. He said sure thing we have a full menu what do you want? I said awesome let me go get my daughter. We were thrilled to be able to find a restaurant (bar and grill) willing to serve a late dinner. I expected about the same as a person normally is served at most bar and grills a satisfying meal better than you would get from any fast food chain restaurants. Though boy was I wrong. I was way off on my expectations. I was literally blown away not only by what I orderer, but what my daughter ordered, plus the stone baked pizza too! I am not just saying this either. I couldn’t decide what to take a bite from as it was all so incredibly delicious. I am taking a stand to yell off the roof tops…this place is the most incredible place throughout the quad cities and further. I lived in central Florida for ten years and even though there were great restaurants none had the array of such different flavors and different kinds of foods that can satisfy the majority of people and at the same time have such delectable flavors across the menu! They even serve Pepsi products! The service was superb they were all very personable. They have such great roots in their family to our country and culture which makes the dinner more of an experience than a simply delicious meal. They also have the ability to say the have been visited my our President Trump and even has his signature on the bar to prove it. I left feeling…let me rephrase this…I left knowing I made new friends for life. I know when I step back into their establishment I will be welcomed with open arms and hugs will be given all around. I have not experienced this kind of hospitality…ever. It was better than I have ever experienced. I do have my favorite places from back to the sixties that are still in business and make great food. I love them. Though this place is beyond any of my expectations for a restaurant, because of the abundance of what they offer down to their family heritage which is incredible what they have given our country, and is and always will be part of the fabric of our great country. If my review has peaked your interest then do not hesitate to go have the experience I did. I truly hope it will be as great for you as it was for me and my daughter. We left feeling blessed to have found this place. It’s incredible! For myself it is the best place to eat by far anywhere I have ever eaten. I also learned about their igloo huts (not sure if that’s what they call they exactly), passing by I had thought they were put there when smoking couldn’t be indoors…I was wrong…they too are non smoking igloos and they are for events to rent out or a little party to be exclusive. They handle 8-10 individuals. There is a small fee to use them as the heat and upkeep of them is costly though how fun they could be! I can’t wait to experience them one day with a few friends of my own. I may just have my daughters birthday in one! I’m so excited. So to top off this review…I want everyone to know unequivocally this is truly how I feeI about this most incredibly special place and our visit. I do not work for them and I’m not getting paid to say any of this. Now a message for Brian and family the owners, I can thank you enough for bringing such a great restaurant to our community and caring enough to make it great! I wish you all the best and continued success with this place! I want to always be able to know where to go for an intimate...
