I had really high hopes for this place, but unfortunately it missed the mark. By the name âSlop Shop,â maybe I should have lowered my expectations, but I was still hoping for a solid breakfast. Instead, everything on the plate was the same shade of brownâeven the eggs. When I asked, the waitress mentioned that everything is cooked on the same grill, so instead of fluffy yellow eggs you get greasy brown ones.
The food was served like warm, and there wasnât a single fresh fruit or vegetable to be found. For the price, it would be nice to see some varietyâmaybe avocado with the egg dishes or strawberries and whipped cream on the pancakes. The only thing I genuinely enjoyed was the bacon.
Another downside: the paper plates and cups. It made the experience feel more like camping than dining out, which is disappointing considering the prices.
The one bright spot was the staffâthey were friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food just didnât deliver, and thatâs what really matters. If youâre looking for a good breakfast spot, Iâd recommend Scrambled on...
Read moreSlop Shop , me and my wife's favorite food truck finally opened a restaurant in pleasant view on Thursday. It was really great. I got a sausage breakfast burrito add chile verde and it was phenomenal 10/10 easily and the size of my head for only $12. The chili cheese fries were $13, if I'm not mistaken, and they were pretty good. Chili had a very distinct flavor that was really really good, I wish it would've had more cheese though 7/10. The pancake was good my son ate quite a bit of it. Overall the place is just as good if not better as when it was a food truck. Also some really great hot sauces there which added a lot to the meal for somebody like me who is a bit of a chile head, which are supplied by Burn Your Tongue Hot Sauces . Overall 9/10 stop by if you're in the area and support a small business with very reasonable prices, friendly faces,...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try this place out after seeing the sign and looking up the reviews. He had The Shop which he said was delicious. I had the Chicken fried steak. The eggs were cooked perfectly which is often not the case, a lot of places under or over cook them. The chicken fried steak was absolutely out of this world. It came with hashbrowns as well which were also perfectly cooked, and biscuits and gravy. I couldnât eat the biscuits and gravy so I brought it home to eat later. The owner Miles came out and asked us how we were doing and asked if we had any complaints. You can tell he really cares about the quality of his food and the satisfaction of his customers. They also offer a military discount which is awesome. This is going to be our new breakfast place for sure. Canât wait to go back. Highly...
