No longer Disappointing. See below.
I ordered and received the Szechuan Noodles for around $12. It is described in their online menu as, "Chicken, shrimp, pork, edamame, dried tofu, shiitake mushroom, fresh cucumbers, house chili oil." What I received was disappointing and in my opinion, sub-standard.
Quality poor: I received a container of mostly noodles over which was placed a mix of something in brown gravy. I could not identify most of what was in the mix, but those things I could identify as probable shrimp were so tiny and shriveled and brown, that I couldn't be sure what they were. Maximum size was less than one-half inch long. The rest of what was likely meat was cut into tiny unidentifiable cubes and also a similar brown to the rest. It struck me as gross.
Quantity: Not much of the gross brown mixture but plenty of noodles.
Update: a bit over a week later, on the same day I left the original review, a person identified as the owner requested that I contact them via email so that they could make things right. I sent an email to the owner that same day with my contact details and I have not yet heard back from them over a week later.
Another update months later: still no contact or response from the owner, management or anyone from the restaurant despite their request for communication. Disappointing.
Update from March of 23, upping my review from two to three stars because the management contacted me to offer more dollars credit on my next order than the cost of the original meal. Thank you.
Update 2025, May 1: finally got around to using the store credit (which they suggested without my prompting), more than a year since the last update. Ordered spicy eggplant with pork and was pleased with the dish. Portions as you would hope for with plenty of pork and a pleasant flavor not overpowering in any aspect. My father got the beef with broccoli and was happy with it. Bumping my review to 4 stars....
Read moreI ordered 2 general tso WHITE MEAT platters and with fried rice along with seaweed salad egg rolls and a spider roll. I left a $10.00 tip before leaving. First off the spider roll was decent. Unfortunately I received very mushy breading with little meat in the centers and it was dark meat general tso chicken which they charged me extra for white meat. The fried rice was extremely dry and crunchy at times. I didnt eat very much of it at all nor did my partner. I called multiple times that day but it just kept ringing the one time and the second time it was just dead silence. I've been to azan wok in the past and I don't know what has been changing, but it's progressively gone down hill my last couple visits. I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt because I've worked in the food industry but I spent good money on this food to be right and it wasn't. Very disheartening because I've shared my good experience with many others in the past.
On a side note... I'm not sure who cleans the store front or if anyone cleans it at all, but the first thing someone sees at a store is the front windows. There is random trash, dust and EXTREMELY filthy all over the window ledges when you look at the front of the store in front of the blinds. It's very very off putting especially being the first impression on customers. my suggestion is clean and make a great...
Read moreFirst time customer. Will never return. The Pad Thai tasted like boiled noodles. Ordered mild to medium spice and received NO spice. Tiny bit of peanuts and almost NO SAUCE. Ordered Basil Fried Rice which was white rice with tiny amount of peas and what looks like boiled chicken and the rice was not fried. Had a few tiny bits of basil in it. Ordered mild to medium spice and received NO spice. I complained to the manager and he said they only use basil for seasoning and do not add much basil to the rice. He said customers think the basil ruins the flavor! Seriously! That's my favorite part of the dish! The basil fried rice at Green Mango has big pieces of basil, and its delicious. Ordered one of their fried rolls with crab, and it was completely forgettable. The pork dumplings were decent. Didnt try the won ton yet. Terribly disappointed that I placed such a large, disappointing order and wasted my money. The manager offered to return some of my money but couldn't credit my charge card. Said he would mail cash to my house but then made me spell the name of my street 4 times before I told...
