China Wok — Restaurant in Plumstead Township

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I came in and ordered a lunch special. After waiting I realized I had left my debit card in my car, which was parked right outside. I told the woman who was ringing me up and she obviously does not understand simple plain English. After repeating "I left my money in the car. I will be right back to pay! I have money" She kept saying " You no money, you no money!" Even the other customers were trying to help me. She then grabbed my order and threw it in the trash and said " no money. No money." These people need someone who can not only speak English but understand it with them. Absolutely worst customer service. She then said "who next" The two other people in line, walked out with me. The guy said he will never come back...

Food was just okay. They told me they don’t use MSG, which I honestly can taste the difference and it’s not for the better. Not having that Umami flavoring really does change the taste and the food felt almost bland. Eggrolls were pretty good, and I liked the sesame chicken but the rice and Sweet&Sour chicken were so bland. The crab rangoons were so bad. I’ve never seen anything so far from a crab Rangoon, I was so disappointed with them. Location was clean and staff was really friendly, but the food was lacking. Fast, professional, reasonably priced. Pretty much what you'd expect, food-wise, from a decent American Chinese take out.

Be sure to bring a mask if you do pick up! There's a sign on the window that's says they are still required (Sept 2022). I've never pressed the issue so I'm not sure if it's still strictly enforced.

Edit Early 2023: Still a sign requiring masks, so plan accordingly. Food remains as expected. I order the boneless spare ribs. Is it a tad dry/overcooked? Yeah. Do I still love it and feel satisfied with money...
