Very average if not below average buffet experience. We arrived soon after the store opened at 11 am. We tried a variety of items. Oddly enough nothing was very hot or fresh tasting. Most of the appetizers were room temperature or only slightly warm. The spring rolls tasted strongly of cabbage and were mushy in texture. Egg rolls were not crispy but did have meat and vegetables inside. The gyoza (steamed dumplings) were tasty though and I liked the sauce, though my partner did not. Crab rangoons were okay. Chicken drumlets were tough and dry. The chicken skewers (appetizer) seemed to be deep fried and were dry.
The egg drop soup was not good. Hot and sour was better but it was also not great. Soups were very hot, which was nice.
Entrees were a mixed bag. The salmon was very good. I also enjoyed the seafood with vegetables and lo mein, though the lo mein was basically just noodles with barely any vegetables. I tried the beef and vegetables, and it had a slightly spicy flavor which was good. One of the chicken dishes was so tough and hard I couldn’t eat it.
I had a a few bites of fruit for dessert but there were also some cakes and several flavors of ice cream.
The place was clean. The music was terrible. It was an odd type of Asian electronic music that reminded me of music that might be used for circus performances. Service was okay but we had to ask for water refills. The waitress did remove empty dishes quickly.
Overall it was a decent lunch but for what it was, the price was high. Lunch was $13. I don’t know if a beverage was included or not because we always...
Read moreQuality really dropped. The will also keep dumping the old chicken into the new on the buffet even if slow. So eventually your eatting really old food mixed with good. They chare way too much and their food isnt that flavorful. Last time i tryed getting take out. I payed for food that shoulda been in all the same size large containers but they gave most of my food in smaller containers while charging large container price. Very over priced. Go to china star in sheboygan they are across the street from a asian market so they have access to real ingredients and you can taste the difference. The foods several dollars cheeper for more high quality food. Bigger menu. And a big happy family cooking your food. Ive eatten at countless chinese restaurants over the years but china star is the...
Read moreFirst time here as we are new to Plymouth and were looking for an Asian buffet. Food was pretty decent, definitely fresh, although we were here for a very early lunch(just after 11am). Dining room reminds me of a cafeteria with some Asian art. Dining area was very clean though. Only problem I had was all the sauces were mainly packets(Soy, Hot Mustard, ect...), as I do like the actual REAL hot mustard(Side note: they did have sweet and sour on the buffet for the chicken). Also they put out very small portions of rice at a time...seems like 2 healthy plates would kill all on the buffet. The price was a little on the high side so bring your appetite...you don't want to come here and eat like a...
