We have been a customer for over a year. Numerous times we have come when the place was more or less empty. Then told we had to be seated in a bench table area that puts 3 sets of people directly next to one another. Both my fiancé and I want a little more privacy than this and asked for the table by the window that is slightly bigger but was told for the second time that we couldn’t be sat because it was for 3 people. The lunch rush they claimed would need the table more than our enjoyment of the window and privacy was worth apparently. So we eat for the second time uncomfortably and the entire time no one is sat at the table we wanted. Then a man by himself takes the table: not a word from the server about him. He is European American. We are a European American and a Korean American couple. That is the only difference. I’m not sure what to think. It didn’t make us happy. If the table is reserved - then label it as such. If not then the man should have been asked as we were to wait or sit at the counter.
We travel from 20 minutes away to come here but have found an alternative in Sheboygan that has the same chorizo biscuits and gravy we like. It’s called Vene’s Pancake house on Michigan in Sheboygan if you are looking for an...
Read moreWas my first time there today. Have gone in the past when it was Carole’s. Went for my birthday breakfast with my husband. Was greeted by a waitress with blue hair and told we had to sit in the tables for 2, 2 of which were already occupied and very close together. We wanted some privacy so we sat at a small table for 3 near the window. All other tables were empty as it wasn’t busy. The first comment made to us was how that table was saved for a party of 3. I could see if it was busy, but it was not. Just put me in a bad mood the rest of the visit. I just didn’t get a friendly vibe. Nothing about it was welcoming. There was loud echoing laughing from behind the counter. My 2 pancakes were decent but pricey ($8.50). But I probably won’t be back. Happy...
Read moreThis is a cute restaurant and has delicious food. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and have a large coffee menu. I ate there for breakfast. They have basic breakfast items, but also have special/unique options. My friend had big lemon poppyseed pancakes and I had their delicious special southwest omelet of the day that was stuffed with southwest spiced chicken, black beans, corn, with a seasoned sour cream. I was able to choose hashbrowns or fresh fruit. My fruit was ripe and delicious. The thick, homemade raisin toast came with homemade blackberry jam....so good. The ladies at the table next to us had large pieces of homemade pistachio torte that they said was really delicious! Great service too. We will be back...
