Mixed reviews. I've ordered a couple of cakes from Nathan in the past. The most recent cake was a big surprise for a loved one hitting a big milestone in their life. We invited family & friends to share this occasion with us. Placing the online order with a 2 week notice was quite easy and Nathan seemed very responsive. We were very excited picking out the perfect flavor combination of cake, frosting, & filling flavors in hopes of blowing away our Guest of Honor. In fact, when we placed the order with Nathan, we were told those flavors "sound great." However, when I called the day of pickup to confirm the cake was ready, I was then told the flavors we picked out "didn't blend well" and that we would be much happier with just a chocolate cake, with chocolate frosting and chocolate filling. I was super annoyed my order was changed last minute and without my blessing. Nonetheless, I figured Nathan knew best and he wouldn't let me down. Boy was I wrong! The cake was dry, and way too chocolately. Honestly, if I wanted a boring cake, I could have picked up Costco's chocolate chocolate cake- which by the way, would have cost much less and would have been more moist. SUPER disappointed in this not-so custom cake, and sad to say we will not be returning for any...

Where do I even start with this amazing bakery? I have tried quite a few delicious treats from Confections Bakery: cheesecake, carrot cake, macarons (various flavors), Rocky road brownie, coffee cupcake, grasshopper cupcake, lemon posset (custard), and doggie treats! I think the ONLY downfall I can find is trying to decide which decadent dessert to choose in one visit. This visit I could not decide on only one, so I ordered two cupcakes, a brownie, and Lemon Posset for myself along with a bag of doggie treats for my spoiled pups. Everything was absolutely magnificent! The cupcakes were moist with the perfect texture and plenty of flavor, and the frosting was to die for (no marshmallow fluff here)! I love coffee so I ordered the coffee cupcake, and it was perfect… not too overpowering on the coffee flavor; just the right amount to go with a sip of espresso. I think my favorite of this visit was the Lemon Posset (custard) So creamy and just the perfect blend of tart lemon with a little sweet fruit on top. Nathan made our wedding cake and first of all, our consultation was so easy! My husband’s favorite part of wedding planning. He is so communicative, kind and knowledgeable with his craft. He was easy to work with in the months, weeks and days leading up to the wedding and when my vision changed, he didn’t even blink an eye, my wish was his command. He helped with the acrylic letters- I hope that’s what the were called, I don’t quite remember, that’s how good he was he took care of it all- that the cake was decorated with and the cake was gorgeous!
