Dunkin' — Restaurant in Pocono Township

I was pretty disappointed last night. My family and I were returning from the water park (wonderful time) and decided to stop off at Dunkin Donuts on the way back to our guest room for some “very needed” coffee and desert for the kids. They’d been asking all day for donuts and I knew the hours were posted as open until 9:00pm (I was sure to double check as to not disappoint my kids). To my dismay, I approached the service counter at approximately 8:10pm, was kindly greeted but turned away with a “I’m sorry, we closed at 8. You’ll have to come back in the morning.” I replied, “Your hours are clearly listed as open until 9pm.” Looking confused the employee responded, “yea I’m sorry, I can’t help you, we closed at 8.” Sorry for the drawn out story but it’s never an enjoyable feeling to tell your overly excited children they had been so patient but now would have to wait until the next day. Thumbs down to last nights employee’s for lying about the store hours (I’m fairly certain they didn’t want to entertain brewing more coffee). We’ll find a new, honest place...

At first you think there is some kind of genuine crisis causing everything to be backed up but after a while you realize it’s not so at all. Just some sort of strange or borderline uncivilized behavior unique to this particular franchise. I find it particularly sad because most of us are visiting with family or very small children who need us to be there for them or are desperately waiting for food to eat.

Definitely cut your losses and don’t stand around waiting for something you can live without in the grand scheme of things. Much better to be with loved ones in the water park or relaxing in the lovely rooms in the lodge.

The ladies who work the breakfast service in the lodge’s main dining room are lovely though and they more than made up for any inconvenience in DD. It was a wonderful experience and I still remember them.

The one takeaway from the DD experience was to read the reviews before going somewhere and not to automatically assume everything will be okay just because it usually is in other places. Every franchise...

I came to great Wolfe lodge with my family. In the morning I decided to get my wife and I coffee and my kids donuts from dunkin. Busy vacation spot there was a long line, I’m ok with that. My problem with this dunkin was the fact I ordered an ice coffee and a frozen coffee. My ice coffee was ready in no time considering the line but my frozen coffee was no where to be seen. After about 15 minutes waiting for my other coffee I asked the lady making drinks that I’m still missing a frozen coffee. She said “ we are behind on drinks”. I noticed people that ordered after me getting all their drinks the difference being they were either hot or iced. My frozen coffee was still unmade sitting next to the machine. More time goes by more coffees are given out but mine. I tracked down a manager and got a refund. The problem with this Dunkin and why they were behind is because they made the easiest orders first no matter when they came in.
