Omana's — Restaurant in Pomona

I’ve been to this restaurant a couple of times. The first couple of times we ordered al pastor and chicken tacos. I told them cilantro and union on the side, they never added it to the side. They finally gave it to me one time out of the several times I didn’t receive it. The last time I was there we ordered fish tacos, their fish tacos are usually good. I asked for salsa on the side, they decided to just put it directly on the tacos. When we got home the tacos were so soggy and falling apart. We also ordered beans on the side and they tasted like it was days old, and I just read from another review this place received a grade C on their last report. Prices are decent and food is okay, the location is very sketchy, quality is questionable. I won’t be coming...

I ordered the chile relleno burrito which comes with beans. I added chili verde (extra fee of $2.50) and rice. It was so delicious!

The chile relleno was not prepared as a typical chile relleno, though. I think it was made from a pickled pepper, which I liked because it was sour. It did not have the batter of a chili relleno either. It was just cooked in an egg and cheese. The cheese was really cooked and crispy and brown and so good! I really enjoyed this twist!

The chile verde was a bit dry, but everything else was gooey so that helped.

I cannot wait to try another burrito combo. I want to come back try more combo burritos: chile relleno with asada or chicharron or buche or...

This place can easily be passed up because it's not in a good safe area and because it looks run down. Tables are sticky and seating is limited. Occasional pan handlers bugging patrons.....BUT, if you can over look that or order to go, you will partake in delicious, fresh made food.

The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. I always order chicharron tacos or a mix of chicharron and asada in my buritto and it's always flavorful and delicious.

They also have this orange flavored drink that reminds me of a mix of cool aid and tang, pretty good and it's only $1.00 for the drink.
