Pollo Tropical — Restaurant in Pompano Beach

My wife and I ate at this location today and we were VERY disappointed. We are frequent visitors of Pollo in West Boca Raton, Florida City and East Del Rey. The 1/4 Chicken piece was very small in comparison to what we normally served and it was overcooked and dry. They forgot my order of plantains and were VERY ALOOF when I went to the counter to ask for the overlooked item. I told the cashier that my plantains were overlooked and he asked the girl working the drive through window if there were any plantains ready and she looked at me and turned her back to me and looked at the drive through window as if to help someone there and there was no one there. So i politely stood there until someone else came within speaking distance. He asked me if he could help me and I told him i would like the plantains that i ordered. He stepped right to the fry station right in front of the drive through girl and made up an order of plantains that were ready and fresh. The condiment bar was a mess and under stocked. The sneeze guard glass was smeared with garlic sauce and dried up from being there for an extended period of time. The onions were almost translucent and not fresh. The sauce cups were almost empty meaning 2 of the 4 dispensers were empty. The lid trough was also basically empty 7 available lids and two were used. Trash on the floor in front of the soda station against the kick plate. (Several napkins and 2 rasin Boxes). The dining area was also a mess with food and napkins on the floor. 12 of the 20 tables were dirty as well. The manager in the red shirt was basically disengaged and seemed as though she was not happy. The store was not busy at all and we had to stand and wait to give our order for 2 to 3 minutes due to the fact the cashier was in the back not on the line. This is the worst Pollo Tropical location I have ever visited in every category. I would be afraid to inspect the kitchen and what I would find. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I will not be back to this location again. The owner or GM should reevaluate their staffing choices and consider cleaning house and starting over. Corporate would not be pleased to say the least. Poorly managed Pollo Tropical location. Gave 3 stars because food is good, highlighting Caribbean flavored grilled chicken with beans and rice. They also offer soups, meat and shrimp dishes as well as introducing a new vegetarian dish with new vegan protein and rice and beans. Very disappointed with this location not because of the food which was properly prepared but because I decided to eat in instead of drive through window and the place was DIRTY! There were dirty napkins and garbage on the floor. The station to serve yourself the various sauces and items such as peppers and onions was in disarray, with some items needing to be replenished or containers empty. They did have an attendant but unfortunately she was busy talking loudly in creole on her cell phone inside an open stall inside Ladies bathrooms. I grew up in Miami. I am familiar and frequented some of their restaurants there. They were way cleaner and an attendant was usually walking around cleaning and replenishing the station with the various sauces etc.. This saddened me. There are so many people needing a job. Who is doing the hiring? Who is supervising employees there? I think they opened up only a little more than a year ago or so.At this rate this place will be a dump and is such a shame because the food is delicious. Hopefully they will wake up and smell the roses and employees in charge of cleaning and supervising start doing their job with pride. Wake up...

I try to be fair before posting a review, I try my best to eat there twice to make sure it wasn’t a bad day what affects the service but in this location they are terrible, by far the worst location. There’s no consistency when it comes to food portions every other location has a pretty standard portion here the portions were very small twice for $15 dollars I got four strings of beef. When I asked the employee he asked the manager who didn’t even acknowledge my presence and said it’s 4oz they are not weighing this food and they have a terrible attitude/ customer service. The food tastes good but that doesn’t make it worth it when the portions are way under than the normal at other locations. They have an attitude and it’s better to drive more to a different place than waste your time and money here. The only reason I kept the food is because if I send it back it’ll go to trash and I’m not ok with that when there’s so many people not having food.
