I set up dinner for this place seeing the reviews and the menu. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype or the ratings. The people that work here are very nice and the shrimp appetizer was quite amazing. After that, it went downhill. I’m not sure if they were short staffed but there were no bus boys around to service the tables, clean them up, or refill water. The order was put in wrong starting with a basic side salad. I was given a Cesar salad with ranch dressing. And unfortunately, the entrées were just not that good. I ordered the crab crusted mahi-mahi and it was way overcooked and I don’t even believe there was any crab on it. The smashed potatoes were cold and without any flavor whatsoever. My son ordered the crab stuffed shrimp and salmon. He enjoyed the shrimp but the salmon was very bland and flavorless. It too was overcooked. With his portion, he was also given a baked potato that was cold and seemed to be sitting out for some time. My daughter ordered pasta with marinara sauce and the sauce was very watered down. It took many times to get the attention of the server to get dishes off the table or to even get the final check. And to top it off, the food runners and other people that work there looked like they came right off the street and weren’t even wearing uniformed clothing to identify them as people that were employed at this restaurant (see photo). For the price they charge for food, the least they can do is give people a shirt with the logo and maybe some nice pants.
Again, very nice people but not even close to being worth the price we paid. There are far better options at better prices in the area. We were hoping for a way better...
Read moreI’m a disabled veteran with a service dog. When we arrived I was told my service dog would only be allowed with papers. Ahhh, that’s a straight forward violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. There are no official papers for a service dog. Restaurant employees are supposed to be familiar with the ADA and the 2 questions they’re allowed to ask. This leaves them open for both civil and criminal actions should I report it to the Department of Justice. I attempted to explain it to her. We did finally take seats at a table and overheard her tell another that she was refusing to serve us. We waited patiently for quite a while until a very nice male server came and took our drink orders. That was fine with us since the woman had very unappetizing sweat stains under her armpits. Which, needless to say, didn’t fit the ambient of the establishment. I was fairly disappointed since I had searched for a restaurant on the beach a few days in advance and, according to reviews, thought I had found the perfect place. The food was good, nothing great for its price class but good. The Cajun Steak was a bit over cooked and didn’t have much in the way of Cajun spices, but it was still good. The waiter was fine, at least he served us when the other refused to. Overall a dismal experience for what was supposed to be a birthday dinner. If not for the friendly waiter I would have only given one star. They need to train their personnel better and it might be a bit more appetizing if they had a change of clothing with them if they’re going to sweat that much. Seriously, that was...
Read moreDropped by for lunch on a Friday. Restaurant seems to be part of a resort, but wasn’t very busy even during peak lunch time. Parking is available out front, but be careful which row you park in as some of it is reserved for the resort. Our hostess and waitress were very hospitable and made the customer service experience a 10/10. Fish dip was too salty for our taste and was only served with (slightly stale) tortilla chips. No crackers, unfortunately. The crab stuffed Mahi and crab stuffed shrimp was under-salted (may have felt because of how salty the dip was) but they were overall made very well with high-quality ingredients and tasted great! The lobster sauce garnish is a great touch! For sides, the mac and cheese was creamy and had a smokey taste to it that lended itself well to the fish and shrimp. Coleslaw was fresh, as were the baby carrots. Our waitress offered us key lime pie for dessert, which she said was one of her favorites. But the pie was mouth-puckeringly sweet. So much so that it felt like you could feel the grains of sugar with every bite we took. We only made it two bites in before having to alert the waitress that we could not eat more. Thankfully, she was understanding and took the pie off our final bill! The price was a little steep, but normal for beachfront restaurant. We paid around $95 for an app and two entrees including tip. I would recommend this restaurant for families looking for a place close...
