Sushi Boat — Restaurant in Pompano Beach

I love mom n pop restaurants that are fresh and good. I was hoping this was one of them because of the good reviews. The first time I went here I got sushi and was happy with it even though it was made incorrectly. I has asked them to add an extra item to a sushi roll. The last time I went, it took 45 minutes for a pick up order! I ordered a chicken stir fry that i was told would come with veges but it came with one broccoli flower LITERALLY, a few onions , and 2 slices of carrots. Not worth $12. I also paid $2 xtra to add avocado to one roll and Luckily I checked my order, and noticed that it was not in the roll. I told the cashier and 2/3 minutes later I open my box check, and I see a a mini cube of cream chese just placed sloppiliy on top of most of the rolls. A few of the rolls they actually tried squeezing the cream cheese into (which wasn't the ingredient I asked to add in the first place). He also didn't have any change for my cash purchase but offered to run a half block away to publix for change after we had already waited 45+minutes for our food. The sushi was lukewarm at best. I stumbled across this spot while searching for lunch specials nearby, and I’m so glad I did! This cozy, locally-owned sushi restaurant has been around for 18 years—run by a husband-and-wife duo—and I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it sooner.

The atmosphere is very much that of a neighborhood gem. The service was fast, friendly, and personal, with the owners sharing how they strive to keep their prices affordable for their regulars.

I opted for the lunch special, which includes two basic rolls and a side of soup or salad. I added a spicy salmon roll to my order and was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious everything was. The sushi was well-made, flavorful, and incredibly affordable. My total came to just $21 for three rolls and a soup.

Okay, so honestly, the food was great... the atmosphere is for drinkers.

Arrive 10 minutes early, and the owner and his wife are the team. I ordered off a website of theirs, and he was having trouble with the computers... he has 2 for orders. He said he just got it, but it was a user error. Happened with an Uber eats order, too... he and his wife got on both orders. She made the sushi he cooked the hot food.
