Shocked and appalled with this establishment!
I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while because I live nearby in Fort Lauderdale. After today's experience I will never be a customer and I advise others to beware.
Every other week, I walk with a group of moms from Pompano Beach to the Starbucks next door to Velentino's. Typically, we grab a Starbucks and wait outside in the patio area for everyone to receive their drinks. We're typically there for about 10-20 mins before we head back to the beach.
Today, while we were waiting, the owner (I believe), a female employee and another man started to berate, insult, and physically assault members of our group. The attack was unprovoked, abusive and shocking. Immediately the red headed female employee grabbed one of the strollers that was carrying a toddler. She lifted, shook and shoved the stroller aside with the poor child flailing about. She was acting irrational and alarming. I feared for the child and all of our safety.
Next the owner threatened to call "some girls" he knew rather than the police to take care of us. We were also ready to call the police for the unwarranted treatment of a group of mothers, infants and toddlers. He called us "pathetic", said that we were harming our children taking them to Starbucks rather than a park, made derogatory remarks about our family lives and husbands, followed by a plethora of other vulgarities and threats.
The incident was completely unprovoked and occurred around 10:30/10:45 am, before their establishment was open for business. We were not sitting at their outdoor tables, but rather the Starbucks and Tiajuana Flats tables in the same patio area. Both Starbucks and Tiajuana Flats I would highly recommend. I will never eat at Valentino's, because of the unconscionable behavior displayed by all of the employees. I strongly caution other patrons from going to an establishment that would willing offend, batter and violate a groups of mothers with their...
Read moreFirst off, I would like to begin by emphasizing that i am a very easy person to please. And my service tonight was horrible. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I ordered the baked ziti with meatballs, a side salad with balsamic vinegarate and it comes with a roll and i also ordered the sour cream pound cake. My order was $21.63 plus the tip i gave. So basically about $25. Well, well, well. I should have spent my money elsewhere. When i got my food, the order was incorrect. They sent chicken wings instead of my baked ziti and some sort of cake with berries in it. I tried to catch the driver but he was gone so fast! So i called the store back and told the store about the order mix up. The guy apologized and said he was sending the proper order along with the pound cake and he told me to keep the "berry" cake for the inconvenience. About 15 mins later! The delivery guy came back with the baked ziti and no pound cake and he told me that the berry cake was the pound cake. I said ok because i was at work and didn't feel like arguing. I looked in the bag, no eating utensils or napkins. About 30 mins later when i finally got a chance to eat, i gave my coworker some ziti and then i tasted and the ziti was disgusting. Furthermore, my "roll" which i thought was gonna be a garlic roll (since it is an Italian restaurant) was a dry piece of bread with not even any bitter on the side!!!! Then i tried to eat my salad, instead of balsamic vinegerate that i asked for i got some sort of raspberry tasting stuff.. Which i HATED!!! Then, i TASTED THE CAKE and that was nasty too! It was dry and cold. I am begging upset!!! I spent my hard earned money on this garbage that i did not eat and I'm STILL HUNGRY! I AM ONLY 4 hours into my 13 hour shift and i am begging pissed. I will NEVER order from these...
Read moreDon't you dare sit at any table behind their restaurant in the public patio outside or else they will aggressively tell you to get up and leave in the rudest way possible. I went to tijuana flats and every table inside was taken as well as all the tables directly in front of tijuana flats outside, and the man came out to tell us to leave. He did not care there was nowhere to sit and that all of "his" tables were empty. There were no signs saying specific tables belonged to specific restaurants. When asked how to identify which ones were his he raised his voice and got aggressive. When I said no I'm not getting up he looked like he wanted to fight me. My friend found a table opened up inside tijuana flats so we moved.
There's a reason why the place next door has lines out the door and every table taken and this place had almost nobody there. If this is how they treat people in the public common area outside aggressively defending their empty tables, I can't imagine they treat their own customers much better. I know I will never go there.
Edit: not surprised to read other reviews calling their people "psychopathic" and that they are pushing around and harassing a group of mothers with their small children outside. This establishment is a blight in an otherwise...
