We had the pleasure of being served tonight by Jami F. She was supurb. I leave 5 stars for her only. If jami was not our waitress, and I had to deal with whom I assume is the manager, I would remove about 25 stars from this score.
Let me explain:
My food was decent, and the lettuce was wilted in my salad.
Jami was the ONLY waitress in the entire restaurant. Maybe the other 2 girls were waitresses, idk, they did NOTHING for any table other than place cheques on them.
Jami was slammed when we came in and she handled it with grace. We ordered our food, a couple things got mixed up, but nothing spectacularly terminal, and she appologetically fixed it promptly.
Our meal took a few minutes longer than expected, however, I was out with my husband and children and we played games, and enjoyed the intimate quiet during the wait.
All of a sudden, a balding short man abruptly came up to our table with 2 out of 5 of our meals and served us. He asked us what the rest of our food was, and took off to the kitchen. When he returned with my children's food, Jami was behind him with another plate for our family.
This gentleman very loudly said he was comping our ENTIRE meal because it was unacceptable for us to wait that long for our food.
He humiliated this amazing young woman, as the ENTIRE restaurant turned to see why we were getting almost 90 dollars worth of food for free.
I quickly stated that I had zero complaints about our service, that we were pleased with the waitress and we did not need anything comped, as we were enjoying our evening.
He dismissed me, and said, no I'm giving you your meal for free as this was unacceptable service AS HE WAS WALKING AWAY.
This behavior of this man, whom I assume is the manager, was appalling at best.
The display of arrogance was over the top. He treated this amazing young woman like she was some low rent troglodyte who deserved nothing more than to be a doormat.
I've owned my own restaurant in the past in another state, and I have been a waitress many years, putting myself through college, and I would FIRE this man for embarrassing my staff, as well as my customer, and my name as an owner.
He had zero class and zero customer service skills.
Our only issue was instead of one sweet tea and one non sweet tea, we got 2 non sweet teas. I'm a Yankee. I can put my own sugar in my cup. It wasn't terminal, it was promptly fixed with insignificant effort.
There was ZERO reason for this man to do what he did .
We sat and waited for him to leave the establishment and paid for our meal and left a tip of 10 percent as we should have in the first place.
We asked to speak to our waitress Jami, and I was almost in tears apologizing TO HER for the way she was treated on our behalf.
This woman works hard for her money, and she does a damn good job.
If the manager was not in such a hurry to jump into his little red sports car and truck off to Lowe's with his female companion, maybe he would have staffed his restaurant appropriately and stayed to help out if they were short staffed due to call outs.
(Yes, we saw him at Lowe's after we left)
I'm angry FOR this young woman, and NO ONE deserves be dehumanized and humiliated for doing her job alone, with zero help from ANYONE in this restaurant.
Who ever owns this restaurant needs to reevaluate who is running this place and representing them, as this man is an embarrassment to this establishment.
They also should consider making this young woman the manager as she handled her job with Grace and handled the humiliation...
Read moreOur waitress was great! She was funny, sweet, remembered everything! The food, not so great. I've eaten at Perkins in other states/cities before, they were all pretty consistent. Good food, wait staff, clean and busy. We went on a Sunday evening, about 6:30. Pretty quiet, about every third or fourth table had patrons, so not swamped. I ordered pancakes, bacon and hash browns, the others had chicken fried steak and pot roast. My pancakes were cold and tough like they had been microwaved and cooled, bacon was done, not burnt, hash browns were fine right, just greasy and lukewarm. Waitress returned my pancakes, next batch were definitely better! I tasted my husband's chicken fried steak, it was just 'ok'. Warm and bland, out friends said the same. Not bad, just bleh. In retrospect, the waitress had made a complaint about the cooks being slow when she brought our food, and it showed. The food tasted premade and frozen, not fresh, and not well seasoned. Really disappointed, as my previous experiences had all been good. The staff we encountered were all nice, friendly, the store clean, just mediocre food. Hope it was a bad night, not a...
Read morethis morning was the first time i went to perkins. it was by far the worst experience i have ever had in an eating establishment! the waitress was very rude. i had asked 4 different times for a lemon in my water that was an original request. and what is worse, i ordered the cheeseburger. when i got the cheeseburger it was raw in the middle. i handed it back to the waitress and she what i thought brought a fresh burger, was actually my recooked hamburger including the bite i had taken off!!!! the same hamburger bun, same veggies, same fries. when i asked the waitress if it was in fact the same hamburger she literally responded with "you wanted a fresh one?!" she stormed off with my recooked chewed cheeseburger and screamed "I NEED A FRESH BURGER!!" as if it was my fault the cook couldnt cook it right the first time. as soon as she said that me and my husband decided we were done, the manager came over. she did apologize but also acted like it was a reoccurring thing that the cook had to recook something. i will never eat at that place again, nor will i recommend it to anyone!!!! the place needs a...
