Carmen's Special Hummus — Restaurant in Ponce

A friend and I went for lunch inside the Plaza Mercado in downtown Ponce. There, we were greeted by friendly staff, which we gave our order and waited at our table a short while for our Vegan lunch. They sell regular lunch with meat, too. We both agreed it was the best humus we had ever eaten. 😁❤️ I had the black bean humus, and my friend had the spicy humus. Each were accompanied by a bean salad called "Ensalada de Granos" and fresh pita bread pieces. We loved everything. We were asked how the food was a couple of times, once from our server and once from someone from inside the kitchen. Very nice experience. Please check the photos posted here. Carmen's special hummus is an interesting concept. Mostly vegan and vegetarian meals with a few meat options. They usually have around 5-6 menu options per day, with around 4 being vegan, and 1 or 2 being meat.

I had delivery, grain salad with pita bread and black bean hummus. They hummus blew my mind, it's outrageously good, and by far the best I've had in my life.

Overall, despite not being vegan, the ocassional vegan meal I get, I usually get from Carmen. She's a little intimidating, but that's only because she's really passionate.

It's a cozy spot inside "Plaza del Mercado" in Ponce. I went there because of the lions being moved from the town square to this area.
