My complaint has to do with management and lack of customer service. My daughter-in-law, granddaughter and I had lunch today during Antique Trade Days. My DIL ordered a salad that comes with strawberries but asked if they could put them on the side for her daughter because the seeds could send her straight to the ER; waiter said no problem. The salad came out with strawberries all over the salad. Waiter offered to have the kitchen remake the salad but we were all hungry so she just decided to pick the strawberries out but there were cheese and nuts all over them and her 4 year old daughter wouldn’t eat them like that so she asked for a side of strawberries since they messed up her order. They brought out a small container with 5 strawberries. When I got the bill I noticed that they charged us $6 for the strawberries and I questioned this since it was their mistake in the first place. Waiter said he understood and went to speak with the manager. Now, this was a $70+ bill, so it was the principal of the matter. Certainly, if I can afford a $70 lunch, I can afford $6 for strawberries. The waiter came back and said the manager asked if we had eaten both types of strawberries. I said yes, I did eat a few of the ones wit the cheese and ground nuts, so the manager said then I have to pay for both. What were they going to do with these strawberries after my DIL picked these out of her salad other than throw them away? I wish I would have eaten all of both type of strawberries and gotten my money’s worth. In my opinion, this is a horrible attitude for management to take and and lousy customer service. My husband and I eat lunch here probably once a week and I often come with friends, and we occasionally come for dinner. I’m going to think long and hard before I venture back, not because of the $6 but because of this manager’s lousy attitude and her lack of customer service. One bad apple CAN spoil the whole bunch in business. Think about that the next time you make such a...
Read moreCame for lunch after being open for a week. I got the cheeseburger, my friend got the Spicy Chicken Pasta. Chicken on pasta was dry and hard, otherwise good dish. No condiments on burger, just the lettuce, tomato and cheese. Meat patty was not seasoned and didn’t really have a taste, but the bun was very good. I did want to note that my silverware was not clean, which surprised me for a restaurant just opening. It was uncomfortably warm and the ice melted in my drink pretty quickly. We were seated right next to a window and the glare was pretty bad. They may need to install some type of blinds. The service was somewhat below par. When we asked a question about one of the dishes the waitress replied “I don’t know, I’ve never eaten it”, not “I don’t know let me go check”. We felt like they were trying to get us in and out as quickly as possible, rushed I should say, to get as many customers cycled through as possible. Also the wait staff and hostess were dressed in black yoga pants, which may have been comfortable for them but not very appetizing to look at. It looked somewhat lazy and unprofessional. When we came in we had a twenty minute wait, which I didn’t mind. The area where we waited was nice and quiet, with comfortable seating in a separate room. This was probably the best part of eating there. I never saw where the restrooms were. The inside decor was pretty cool, nice use of a beautiful old building and the restaurant, from the outside, looks nice situated on the corner. In summary the architectural decor was nice. The atmosphere was uncomfortable due to it being warm inside, the glare and the staff “uniforms”. Food and cleanliness of utensils leaves a lot to be desired and service nothing to write home about. Will not be my first or second choice place to eat and probably won’t eat there again anyway. If it had been done up better, it would’ve been a nice spot for...
Read moreWent for Mother’s Day yesterday and was pretty excited to check it out. This after getting NO reply from the Instagram page and calling numerous times to finally get through and talk to a live human being.
This person told me there no reservations being taken (which wasn’t completely true) and that it was pretty much first come , first serve. When we get there a bit after 11:30ish or so, I get asked if I had made a reservation. 🙄 Seems they were taking them but then stopped. Ok fine, we were an 8-topper and decided to wait which were told could be up to 40min+. That wait ended up being only around 20 mins or so that was great. We ended up sitting in one booth even though two were set up for us.
So for the food, 3 in my party ordered a variety of the buffalo chicken, which just ended up being too spicy for anyone to really put up with. There should have been a warning associated with it or a spicy level for patrons to be able to choose from. The skirt steak from what I was told, had a good taste but from what I could see was definitely NOT worth the $30 it was being priced at. It was just a small, thin slab that looked more like a kid’s meal!
My wife ordered the salmon which she said was cooked through but the outside was too well done. My ceasar salad definitely was not what I was expecting and had what I believe pico de gallo in it?!? I do not eat meat and they managed to discount the price from my ‘cajun spice’ pasta but it was just more of a kicked up ‘mac & cheese’ than anything with a cajun spice appeal to it.
The chocolate mousse was ok but not $12 for a little sliver that you get. Overall, it might be better to come for a boozy brunch and enjoy the scenery. However, for it being Mother’s day, yea the restaurant did NOT live up to my...
