Goku Japanese Express — Restaurant in Pontotoc

Personally not a fan of oriental food in general but the sukiyaki steak was the dish I tried.

Pros:

-The food quality was great, and honestly something I may pick up in future. I’m blown away by the sukiyaki steak dish. -Dine in atmosphere is superb with many thematic decorations mixed with modern Japanese styling on the wall.

Cons: -The staff energy seems a bit low and tired except for who I’d assume to be the owner. (The reason for 4/5 stars) -Dine in plate is plastic with plastic utensils. Not unexpected from express but important to list nonetheless. -Not easy to find.

Biases: Personally I strongly appreciate a good dine in experience, with proper ceramics and utensils or chopsticks.

Ivan and his team make some fantastic food. I definitely didn't expect to eat sit-down restaurant hibachi from a food truck, but that's what they have. My dish, steak, shrimp, vegetables, and rice were all very well seasoned and cooked. I don't generally eat the Yum Sauce, but Goku has some kind of amazing secret recipe....
