We came here for a lunch outing and reserved a table for hibachi. To start with, our chef was not very enthusiastic at all and at times, seemed to be quite the antagonist by doing things like continuing to squirt Sake at guests even after they've closed their mouths and turned their heads to indicate that they were done. Great, now we get to leave reeking of alcohol. I ordered the steak lunch and not only was my portion extremely small, it was all of the fatty end pieces. I spoke up and the chef seemed to think I was joking because he laughed it off. So I pulled my waitress to the side and politely asked if I could have a do-over as I was not satisfied with the quality of my meat and the portion size in comparison to the other guests who ordered the same. She said she would get her manager. A small Asian man with glasses approached the table and said "Yes?". He never introduced himself, nor did he intend to give the impression that he had been briefed on the situation although I know he had. This let me know that he was only here with the intention to argue and not to help or improve the situation. So I asked him, "Are you the manager?" Since he never introduced his name, job title or reason for being there. He says "Yes, what's the issue?" I asked him if he had been informed of the situation. He replied "Something about meat I heard" What a joke of a manager this guy is. So I explained a 3rd time the issue although he is staring at my plate (never did he once look at me or acknowledge me in conversation). This fool asks me "Do you want me to take it away and cut the fat off?" At that point I asked him to please leave because he was not here to help. Then one of our guests had a medical emergency during which EMT had to be called and the same "manager" threw his hands up in the air as if to say "Oh great and now this". Not once did a staff member offer to assist by asking if she needed water or to call 911or anything. In fact, the waitress tried to rush us to pay as if she wanted us to hurry up and get out. This place is horrible from the Food Lion brand spaghetti noodles for hibachi to the small inadequate man they have as a manager. I vow from this day forth not only will I never return, I will be sure to share this story with anyone who will listen if I ever hear the words "Hayashi" or "Hibachi ". This place has HORRIBLE service. I can't wait until the day a competitorAUTHENTIC Japanese steakhouse opens in this business complex so this place can shut...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk, I have never written a review, but because I had such a terrible experience Iām compelled to do so. The server was really nice and professional, but their operations needs some re-evaluation. We were seated at a regular table because the wait for the hibachi was over 30 mins- which is totally fine. However, we were not told that the menu was different for the two sections. We were excited and anticipating the teriyaki to be similar to the grill on the hibachi but that was not the case. Which is also fine, because we should have asked and instead we just assumed. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and it was not good at all and very bland. We took a bite of the teriyaki and asked to have it wrapped up instead so we could take it home and maybe revamp it, the server asked if there was something wrong. We told her itās not what we thought it would be and she responded with āitās not a problem if you do not like it, we can take it off the bill. We totally understand that you expected the type of teriyaki from the hibachi grill.ā So we were surprised and pleased and said we would greatly appreciate that. Then 5 mins later and the owner comes over and asks what was wrong and said we already cooked it so not sure why we want it taken off and was not pleasant about it at all. First of all, we did not ask for it to be taken off the bill, second of all- if you tell a customer something then be consistent with your words throughout. He made it seem like we were just trying to take it off the bill- no! We just didnāt want the terrible dish. The place is very disappointing and will never go back and trust me, we will spread the word. The owner is not sensible nor does he seem to care about customers being taken care of. This review could have been prevented if you offered to remake something or were just nice about it. So please check your leadership because it affects the entire company overall. Hope you realize sometimes itās the quality over the money that matters. Best of luck to you and your teriyaki in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family came here as we in the area and wanted a great dinner experience. We didnāt have a reservation and they werenāt busy at all but were told they didnāt have room for any walk onās at the Hibachi tables for another 5 hours. Oh well, probably better off to sit at a table because everything the chefs do scare my kids anyway. Once at our table, we get told that the kids menu is for the Hibachi table only. What in absolute asanine thought pattern is that. We end up ordering a Shrimp Fried Rice for the kids to split and Teriyaki plates for the wife and I. The plate the waiter brings for kid #2 is absurdly small and my kid spills everything off it causing my child to frustrated and myself to have a hemmorage from the disorder. The order was also put in wrong as Chicken Fried Rice (thats fine, mistakes happen) and when the waiter finally got back around to check on us 15 mins later we had to argue a bit to get a small plate of Shrimp instead of taking away the food that is already here sating the small children and remaking the whole dish.
As far as the food went - the Miso soup was eh. Not great, not horrible. The Teriyaki Chicken was moist but the Teriyaki sauce was barely tastable (even though the chicken was drenched) but Iām glad it wasnāt because when I could heap enough together to taste it... it was almost burnt tasting. The Fried Rice absolutely reeked of butter and was average for taste - did not give off an authentic Japanese taste. The vegetables my wife described as, āno better than a bag of steamable frozen vegetables.ā I didnāt think they were bad but certainly werenāt exceptional.
Overall, I think this is the worst Hibachi restaurant I have been to in almost every aspect. Make sure to get in a few drinks before your meal, because the food alone is not...
