Worst experience. I felt bad for the young man working behind the counter last Saturday. He was new and obviously hadn't been trained well. I called ahead because I was on a 30min lunch break. When I arrived he hadn't started on any of the drinks I ordered. He was working on a order for the lady ahead of me and told me it would be a minutes since I was ordering more than 3 drinks. I took a walk outside by the water to kill some time. I can back about 10-15min to a restaurant full of people and still NOT 1 drink of mine had been made. I guess he thought he would clear the restaurant and then make my drinks. There were about 9 people in line with more people walking in. After I watched him make the 3rd drink that still wasn't mine I went to the front of the line and made him aware that he would either need to at least START making my drinks or give me a refund. I had been there close to 45min at this point. Luckily there was another customer who was there to witness the whole thing. He had to stop one customer who was trying to walk out without paying, turn on an industrial size fan in the corner for those complaining about no AC and make the young man make an announcement that he would be with everyone else once he finished my order. After all that I was finally able to get back to work just to realize I didn't get one drink and another that I did get had a past due sale date stamped on it.... I told the guy working behind the counter that there was ABSOLUTELY no reason for there to be only one person working there on a Saturday especially if he was new and didn't quite know what he was doing. All I know is the Juice Bar lost at least 7 customers that day. My coworkers and I will not...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of this business for three years, and overall, my experiences have been positive.
However, during my most recent visit, I was quite surprised by the significant price hike—my usual Açaí bowl had gone up by over $3. I understand policies regarding no substitutions, but when I mentioned that I had dental work and couldn’t eat granola, I asked if I could swap it for almond butter drizzle. I was shocked to hear that this small change would raise the cost to $15!
I’m a huge supporter of small businesses, but this felt more like a “nickel-and-dime” approach rather than a customer-centered interaction.
While the product is still good, the pricing and the impersonal nature of the exchange left a bad taste in my mouth— pun intended! $13+ for a cup of açaí, 1/2 banana and two strawberries is price gouging.
⭐️⭐️ deducted for the steep price increase and the excessive upcharge for a simple substitution For reference, paid $50+ for two tropical paradise smoothies, a pepperoni flatbread and açaí bowl without the granola. My son and I looked at each other like 😳and he even said, “I can’t beeline you paid $13+ for THAT bowl”. What could I say except, “IKR 😞, that won’t happen again.”
➡️Recommend sticking with the smoothies and juices and leave the food alone.
::Original review:: My family & I have been frequenting this small business for over a year now. They offer amazing açai bowls, cold press juices, smoothies, liquid meals and alkaline water. Recently visited their new café and we were not disappointed. Very happy to have this one of a kind addition to our city. If you haven’t been- show this small business some love and go get an Açai bowl (my...
Read moreI saw this cafe and felt like it was just the kind of place I would like. So much so that my daughter ordered food from a nearby restaurant and I still chose to come here. The cashier informed me that she was new when I asked about one of the sandwiches. She told me she knew more about the drinks and not the food. So she didn’t know if the jackfruit sandwich would be made the same way as the barbecue chicken sandwich. Instead of her asking someone that may know the answer. I had to ask her to ask. The gentleman that came out was very helpful. I ordered that sandwich with the jackfruit. I had to wait for a very long time. I was checked on twice by another gentleman from the back, but never the cashier that was up in the front making smoothies. I finally got my sandwich and was a little annoyed with how long it took and how the 30 second estimate I was given minutes ago was not accurate. However, that sandwich was soooo good I had to call them back to tell them! The wait was wellll worth it. The flavors were just right and it was toasted to perfection. The seasonings on the toasted sourdough bread was divinely delicious & the melted cheese was ooey gooey deliciousness!!! Il wish there was one near me. I live in the Richmond area. Every time I come to this area best believe I’m making a stop here and going to try juices and...
