I worked at Five Guys for about two months, and during that time, I experienced a difficult work environment, specifically dealing with racial discrimination from one of the managers. On several occasions, he made deeply inappropriate comments, including remarks about hanging Black people and making derogatory statements about African-Americans and Haitian culture. As the only Black employee there, this was incredibly upsetting and unacceptable.
I brought these concerns to the attention of the general manager, but the only solution offered was to change my schedule so I wouldn’t have to work with that manager. While I appreciate the effort to address the situation, I feel this response was insufficient. I believe that no one who behaves in such a way should be in a management position, When I put in my two weeks' notice, the general manager asked me to stay. I initially agreed because I didn’t want to be without a job. However, after thinking it over, I realized I didn’t want to continue working for a company that doesn’t care about how their good employees feel, especially regarding racial issues. So, I decided not to return after that day so If you're Black, I wouldn't recommend eating at Five Guys. Based on my experience, it seems like the company doesn’t value or...
Read moreAMAZING service: Energetic smiling friendliness, explained the menu to this first-timer, and were nice and helpful and didn't complain or charge me extra for a separate bottom bun when I realized their buns had sesame seeds (which I can't have due to constant diverticulitis). I could tell from the very first bite of my burger that I was eating real beef. The Little Fries is easily enough for two or three people, and it's obvious they're made from real potatoes. The prices are high and I was hoping the quality would more than make up for that; it was a great burger with my choice of toppings, and the fries were great too, but sadly it was not worth the cost. Other people's reviews had indicated how spotlessly clean the store was, but that's not what I saw. The crumbs on the floor, not just by my table, easily illustrates their lack of cleanliness, and there were only two other tables occupied during my experience. There are not many GOOD burgers to choose from in Port Charlotte, FL, but I still will not likely come here again. Overall, I'd say Five Guys is slightly...
Read moreIn the beginning, 5 guys hit the ground running 100 mph. It was very impressive, and the hamburgers were so tasty, classic, affordable, and full of energy. But, today, they are not even close to getting an F in customer service, and their hamburgers flavor went from A + to an -F. So what happened to you guys ? Ask the upper management at the headquarters what they do to increase customer loyalty ? It's time to get out of your big reclining chairs and go and work 1 day per month at your stores and see what you can do to increase quality, attract, and retain customers. If not, your guys will lose your customers, and of course, your fat pay checks. The next step will probably be to contemplate, which is better: 7 or 11 chapters. We went back x a hamburger ( after a few months ) again but, like the first time, nothing is changing here. Only the fact that they had only 1 employee working....he was a cashier and everything else down to deliver the hamburger ( I won't be surprise to the fact that nobody like to work...
