We were in town for a wedding and discovered this place on social media. By photo alone we knew we had to visit. was a Classic, fun, step back in time atmosphere as soon as you stepped inside. We were greeted and sat immediately, no wait. Lots of options on the menu that made it hard to decide what to order. My husband went w/ the chicken and waffles. Waffle had the perfect crisp on the outside, while being soft and pillowy in the inside making it a solid waffle. The chicken was out of this world! We both agreed it’s the best chicken we’ve had in a long time. The skin was fried golden brown and it was perfectly seasoned through out. I ordered the pulled pork Mac & cheese which was delicious. I had an amazing iteration of this dish a few yrs back and I’ve been chasing that flavor combo ever since and no place has ever come close. Palms nailed it! I could have used a bit more of the sauce to help balance the meat/sauce to macaroni & cheese ratio. But outside of that the noodles were done perfectly, cheese sauce was the perfect consistency and the pulled port was top notch. My husband and I ended up sharing both meals because we both loved them so much. I ended up leaving my leftovers in the hotel fridge and I was so upset. My only regret is not getting more chicken. 10/10 we both agreed we’d drive the 3.5 hrs back just to eat here again! The only note on service was our particular server was slow. She was friendly enough but it took 15 mins to get our check and then 10 mins after she took my card for her to come back. When she refilled our drinks they weren’t filled to the top and although she checked on us twice it was with other items in her hand and while she was mutlitasking. The other servers seemed to be a bit quicker and helped us with/ containers for our leftovers and answered a question we had on drinks from the bar. Overall the service was not bad, it just didn’t match the level of what the kitchen is putting out. Nothing that would discourage us from returning and we’ve told all the guests it’s a must try! Hoping to return one day because I cannot imagine never eating either of these meals again...

We walked in and sat ourselves. Did not realize that you had to be sat by a waitress, one gave us a dirty look when we walked past her. We had a different waitress that was very nice, thankfully.

The atmosphere is reminiscent of a ‘50s diner, but literally EVERYTHING feels sticky. The booths are cramped and are supposed to fit two people side by side, but that would be nearly impossible. The noise level was tolerable, but it was quite annoying as my friend and I were both getting overstimulated by the close proximity, sticky surfaces, and the fact that we had to wait 20+ minutes for all of our food to arrive.

When the food did arrive, it all smelled amazing, but it lacked in tastefulness. Frankly, there was a lot of grease on their Onion Burger, and I was tempted to use a fork and knife. They had some sort of pulled pork macaroni, and it tasted amazing. Sadly, there was a lot of sweet barbecue sauce in it, and I could hardly taste the cheese and smokiness of the pork. The fries that came with my burger looked very depressing. Covered in oil, and wilted like a bad leaf of lettuce. No flavor to the fries, little to no salt on them. Tasted soggy like they were underdone.

Overall, I will not be coming back. I do not recommend this place to people that get overstimulated/overwhelmed easily, unless if you are sitting at the bar or a table. Still, the chairs are sticky there too. The history of the restaurant is interesting, and I highly encourage people to look more into it, but the food and cleanliness must...

The staff was really friendly and if you are picking up you get to watch them prepare your food. I ordered cheese sticks, 4piece chicken dinner (comes with fries, roll, coleslaw) and a waffle with pecans. Cheese sticks were just ok I’ve had better. They failed the cheese pull test even though they made hot and fresh. The fries were homemade fresh cut fries. Very fresh soft with a slight crunch. They don’t add salt so I’d suggest you adding that as soon as they bring out your food. The chicken was ok. The crust was perfectly crispy but the seasonings were lacking with just a hint of flavor and I don’t like salty or over seasoned food. I could also tell that the oil they fried the chicken in was burnt which kinda messed with my senses. The roll was fresh and soft and the waffle was missing the pecans I asked for. Overall the waffle had a slightly sweet and buttery taste with a soft spongy inside. I did not eat the coleslaw because I don’t like it. If I go back I’m gonna try the mushroom soup and chicken gizzards everyone was...

What a fun find in Port Huron. We were in town for a boat ride on the St Clair river & Lake Huron and decided to stay in town and find something to eat. The reviews for the Palms were good and focused on chicken but we ended up getting both a chicken dinner and a turkey dinner. I think we both agreed that the turkey was outstanding even though the chicken was good. There were at least three or four huge slabs of turkey, homemade tasting dressing and a pile of mashed potatoes covered in wonderful gravy. My husband who got the two-piece white chicken kept stealing my turkey. They have a full bar but I warn you that the drinks are expensive. It seemed to be a very diverse crowd in that there were seniors, families with kids, singles and young couples. I wish it were closer to town, but we agreed that it would be worth the drive to return and because the turkey dinner was wonderful & huge, we would split one next time.
