I am very, very disappointed in Which Wich. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so upsetting that I feel the need to share.
Everything started off great. A very nice woman welcomed us as we walked in the door and began helping me order a salad. Since it was a bit busy, an older woman â who I believe was one of the owners â stepped in to assist. She was super sweet, helpful, and even joked with us while guiding me through the order. I originally wanted a salad, but she recommended their spinach wrap, so I went with that. My father ordered a corned beef sandwich. At this point, the experience felt positive and welcoming.
When our food came out, my wrap had olives on it. I went back to the counter to ask about it, and the younger man behind the counter responded with a condescending tone: âYeah, theyâre olives.â I explained that I hadnât ordered them and that the woman must have accidentally bubbled it in. He just stared at me, so I decided to let it go and pull them out myself since I was in a rush.
By the time I returned to my table, he had already come out from behind the counter with my order ticket in his hand, saying, âLook, you bubbled in olive salad.â I reminded him that the woman had helped me fill it out. With a rude, snappy tone he asked, âYou want me to remake it?â I told him no, I was in a hurry, and Iâd just pick them off. He then threw the ticket onto our table. When I told him not to throw things at me, he started yelling, âGet out of my store!â
At that point, I realized the older couple working there were his parents, as they began trying to calm him down. I stayed to finish my food because I needed to get back on the road. The wrap itself was actually pretty good (once I picked the olives out), but my fatherâs corned beef was dry and the bread was barely toasted â it should have been grilled or pressed.
As my father went to refill his drink, the younger man (who kept repeating, âThis is my storeâ) started laughing at him. When my dad looked at him, the man quickly turned to his parents and said, âHeâs looking at me.â My dad calmly replied, âYou were laughing, so I looked.â At that point, the older gentleman told us it was time to go. My father explained we were already on the way out, but the son escalated things again, yelling at us to get out while stepping aggressively like he was about to come around the counter. His father physically held him back. What made it worse â the son was holding a large bread knife at the time. Iâm sure he would have eventually put it down, but in that moment my heart was pounding, and it felt unnecessarily threatening.
I left as quickly as I could before things got worse. None of this needed to happen. I will never return to...
Read moreMy sister had a very unfortunate experience with the owner of this establishment. Her job across the street gives out snacks during the shifts. For her lunch break she decided to support a small business and get a sandwich from here. A worker from the shop phone called her an hour later mistakenly thought she took the chips from the establishment and asked that she come and pay for it. My sister clarified that it was chips from her job. The employee sincerely apologized for the confusion. My sister then comes again the following week during her lunch break to. The owner decides to confront her in front of everyone accusing her of stealing from the previous misunderstanding that was already clarified with the employee LAST WEEK. The owner stated she seen her walk out with the chips. My sister asked her if she played back the video to when she was walking in because then she would clearly see that she already had the chips walking in. The owner stupidly admits that she did NOT watch the beginning. Instead of apologizing for her IGNORANCE she decides to continue to gaslight my sister . My sister says she will never come back here again and the owner says she doesnât need to come here again. How rude and arrogant. You would think after a facing a hard two last years due to Covid where millions of restaurants were forced to close, that a small business owner would be grateful for every customer that comes through its doors. Instead of racially profiling, why not THANK your customers for coming and try to rectify any misunderstandings. Thatâs what any smart business owner would do instead of losing out on business that you clearly desperately need. GO ELSEWHERE....
