I never leave bad reviews, at all. Just a few really big suggestions will ensure a better dining experience, food wise.
The Country Fried Steak was 57% Steak and 43 % Batter ratio. I've never eaten 2 very thin CFS before? I actually had so much fried batter, I removed it because it tasted like all batter. I would recommend it being one substantial piece of steak (1" -1.24 inch thick) Cracker Barrel really has a great one, I'd try to mimic it and it's $13.99 with 3 sides. Also, the cornbread is sweet like Jiffy Boxed Cornbread. We were expecting the old school cornmeal version. That sweetness with the collard greens, not so good. My husband never leaves without eating most everything. He couldn't eat the COC at all or the cornbread ( I gave him mine not knowing it was sweet) both which he loves. One side he ordered was mashed potatoes and he said they were not homemade. We treated our family and spent $140 on our meals and appetizers. The Crab Cake sandwich was good. But 3 of us got the CFS and we were all disappointed.
Secondly, That Cream of Corn is all together strange? The consistently was so off? I would get an actual can of cream of corn and that is the way even homemade COC should look like. The consistency especially. I believe it was "fresh silver queen white corn" but it was thick like potato salad or macaroni salad? My husband said it had cornstarch thickening taste too? The coleslaw was delicious. The collard green dip/crab dip was great! My best friend got the buffet and really liked it.
That's all. I wish you nothing but success for your new business. You really have an awesome building, decor is great and...
Read moreDelicious and comforting food for sure. Lovely atmosphere and great customer service from the warm welcome and friendly greeting you will always get upon arrival to being seated for your drinks. The quality in treatment you get you'd think you're at superior fine dining. They really do care and check on you here, I must say. We've eaten here several times and we can not complain. The BBQ Tea Chicken is very tasty. The Green Beans are most definitely a Mean Green Bean Hunnay! Simply because these Green Beans are so green, they look like they eat clean and green, LOL. They are my favorite. Veggie Medley is awesome as well. The Mac-n- Cheese is wonderful as well the Fresh Salad Bar. Seafood is always a favorite. They are on FB and always post their weekly menu and what's going on there. They even do a Bingo, I understand.
Comfort Kitchen would be a great edition to Down Town Savannah. They could easily be the new takeover for what our beloved Paula Deen left behind years ago. She switched the buffet as we knew it to a la carte style buffet. We've experienced the new a la carte style buffet she has to offer quite a few times. It's okay. ButttterUmmm.... NOTHING that's going on PRESENTLY there BEATs even close to the WAY IT USE TO BE. "OUR" Oppinion POINT BLANK DOT COM. That being stated and shared. You Good Folksis, Foodies, Travelers, Yelpers, Googlers, Grandma, PappyDaddy, UncleBobbay, Aliens From Outter Space, Annie & Nem, whoever and wherever you are... Head on over to Comfort Kitchen and have a hot meal. You'll enjoy it.

Read moreWe recently dined at Georgia Comfort Kitchen, and while we were excited to try their Southern-inspired menu, our experience was mixed.
I ordered the Pick 2 Fish Entree, choosing catfish and the catch of the day. Unfortunately, the catfish was quite bland, but with some added hot sauce, it became more flavorful. The catch of the day tasted like frozen fish rather than fresh, which was disappointing considering the menu's promise of quality Southern seafood. The collard greens was a mush, the mac and cheese was dry, the corn bread was fantastic.
The highlight of the meal was the Bear Smash Burger, which my husband ordered. It was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Definitely the best thing we had that evening!
One surprising (and disappointing) item was the fried chicken side. The menu listed it as a side for $5.95, but what we received was just one small piece of chicken thigh—definitely not worth the price. It felt like the most expensive piece of fried chicken I’ve ever had.
On the bright side, the service was great. The staff was attentive and friendly, which made the experience more pleasant. However, it was noticeable that the restaurant was empty at 8 PM on a Tuesday night.
Overall, Georgia Comfort Kitchen had some hits and misses. While the burger and service were great, the seafood and value for certain items left a lot to be desired. We were hoping for a more authentic Southern comfort food experience, but it didn’t quite meet our...
