Chicken Coop Inc — Restaurant in Portage

Last evening I called in an order as I normal have done for 20 years . After submitting my order I was told give us 10 to 15 minutes and we will have it ready. I arrive 15 to 20 minutes later to be dumbfounded as to why the cashier did not have a clue about anything . I informed her I called in an order and they said to pick it up in 10 to 15 minutes . After every transaction she had to go in the back for something which made it a 10 minute wait at the counter . I was then informed they would bring my order out to me .I then waited 15 more minutes for my order before entering the store to ask what is going on you told me to come in 1p to 15 min . She went in back came back in front with half my order then placed a piece of cold fish that had sat in the fryer this whole time. I had asked for sauces and plastic where none in the bag . When asked what went wrong she had not a clue . So I paid 14 dollars for the worse dinner I ave ever had . Mind you been a customer since I was a high school student man has this place went way downhill .I tried phone calling to complain to a manager . Got the ole chicken no voice mail set up recording. Your establishment blows 6all the way around as I try to contribute to local business I will never buy from this place ever again as owners you should feel proud to run this place in the ground as I predict folks will not tolerate such an unorganized diner as this . Please dont waist your money on some garbage cold food you wait 40 minutes for .Go to famous recipe way better service for the same price and way...

This is our first time ever coming here. We moved from Washington State to Portage Michigan. We check out the reviews and saw how amazing this place was so we checked it out and I was so disappointed. When we first walked in I held the door open for a girl who was brining out food. No thank you just rude. I asked how the macaroni salad was and was told it was delicious. It came in a Jell-O shot even though I asked for a small, plus it was covered in mustard (yuck). Turns out they have different sizes for cold and hot food NO ONE MENTIONED THAT detail to us!!! I understand this place is ran by teenagers but, ADULT supervision should be required. I must say though the chicken was delicious 😋 and would only go back for the chicken. Their cat fish had no flavor and was not something I would recommend at all. The mash potatoes and chicken gravy were also good and would eat that again. Their Mac and cheese had NO FLAVOR and needed salt and a whole lot of flavors in order for me to go back for their Mac and cheese. Excellent food, good portions, quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. The prices are amazingly fair. Several specials to choose from, fried chicken, fish, livers and gizzards too. A very nice selection of 'sides' to choose from, desserts and fountain drinks. I liked that their menu had such a nice variety of homemade delights. Of all the "fried chicken places" in a 50 mile radius this is definitely the best. The restaurant is clean and bright. Nice comfortable dining area or if your choice is to take it with you they pack your food neatly and make sure you're got utensils, napkins, straws and all the sauces you care to have. Definitely an unusually wonderful experience to have such great attention paid to your dining experience, no matter if you chose to eat in or take your meal with you. The service was excellent. The people working there were clean and friendly. I truly felt they wanted their customers to be happy that they chose their restaurant. I was greeted with polite voices and welcoming smiles.
