Oasis Tropical Ice Cream — Restaurant in Porterville

The ice cream/ deserts that they have are delicious, a bit expensive but worth it. The only thing that they really need to improve is there work ethic. They’ll have there lobby full of customers, but only one employee at the register taking orders. The other employees are in the back room doing God knows what and only after the employee at the register calls them for help do they decide to grace the lobby full of costumers with there presents. Even then after they see that the lobby if packed full of people they still won’t immediately start doing there job. They remind me of my son when I would tell him to go clean his room. In Spanish we call them ( Coyote’s). They need to have a experienced manager working with them, until then your going to spend over 20 minutes there waiting for your pico de gallo. This place is my go to place every time I visit. It is inexpensive compared to surrounding areas. The owners are really nice and I have known them for years. Yesterday I called to place my order ahead of time, because of the long lines and heat. I was on hold for 19 MINUTES. I drove there from the East Side, remained on the line, and stood in line. When it was finally my turn, I told the worker, Esmeralda, I have been on hold for 19 minutes and now I am at the front of the line. She looked at the phone, hung it up and all I got was a simple sorry.
