I'm not sure what has happened to this place. The new ownership? My order was incorrect, but I let that go. Things happen. But one would think that when a plate of food is untouched and put at the edge of the table for clearing, the waitress would ask if there were any issues. Nope. The egg salad sandwich is just a sliced hard-boiled egg with gobs of mayonnaise on plain white bread. No seasoning. Not even served with lettuce on the sandwich, which had to be requested, and it was wilted. The chicken and bacon ranch warp was a poor excuse for a wrap—low-grade stringy over-cooked bacon, mounds of wilted lettuce, in a cold tortilla with no flavor. The kid's special pancake is my son's absolute favorite when going here, and that wasn't even up to par. The grill/griddle needs to be clean when serving speckled black pancakes. Then the waitress stated that certain things (cheese and onion) were extra that was clearly printed on the menu as standard to the item (chili-size). The waitress never asked how the food was or if we needed anything else. We had to get her attention for a drink refill. We had to flag her down to get the check. Literally, the table was cleared, and we were sitting there waiting. I want to say this is because they were busy, but that was not the case. She'd walk by the table and not say a word. Now on the best thing about the whole dining experience, remember that food that was not touched? I saw an employee come out from the kitchen area with the same food, sit for what looked like his lunch break, and eat that food. Now, I'm not upset he ate the food; good for him. It didn't go to waste. I am upset that I paid for that food and wasn't even asked if there was an issue. And you probably shouldn't have an employee eat someone's uneaten food next to them. The disappointment I experienced in one visit to this place is incredible. The customer service and quality of food have taken a hit. Just another hometown favorite going under. A complete waste of $90 to...

What a complete and utter shame that it took me 9 years of driving by this place before I was finally able to go in!!! It took me riding a tcat bus from Lindsay 2 Porterville in a electric chair I should say an electric wheelchair! and when I was getting close I thought oh my goodness what if they don't have a ramp? Of course as I got closer I saw it and I was very happy. of all the times I've driven by it I was not in a position to experience it! But I knew as a professional restaurant consultant and owner of several restaurants that I wanted to go in. So finally the day came when I was able to be there and I met a wonderful staff including Amy our waitress and Leslie the cook and thoroughly enjoyed myself with the extreme success that they are worthy of, my care provider and I enjoyed the experience for at least 2 hours! As I said in the beginning it is a complete utter shame that I hadn't gone in there earlier. Now even when I am with someone in a car I will make the effort to stop by! By far my favorite breakfast is chicken-fried steak and eggs, and they were one of the best in all of the 1.2 million miles I had driven in my career! My constant search was for a great chicken fried steak and egg breakfast which is how I started my day as often as I could. I can go on and on and on and on about this place. But I'll end by saying get in there and get this local business all of the extreme success that they are worthy of and this community! I will add a picture as soon as possible. Go in and enjoy this place while you are there you will be...

The food was great and we came back since we had a great experience the first time we came but unfortunately did not have such a good experience the second time. The cook was amazing and food was great. The waiter was horrible her name is Mercedes. She had horrible customer service and attitude. She even talked bad about us with other customers. The owner should really check on this waiter Mercedes. I see other reviews stating the same. And I would like to the owner reach back to me because this Service from the waitress. It was super bad and then make it your restaurant super bad in front...

Excellent place to eat breakfast. I ordered the country style potatoes, eggs and bacon with a homemade biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was soo delicious and a meal in itself. The historical photos of Porterville on the walls are a nice touch for those interested in the history of the town as well. Great, friendly service as well. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

Soooo good! Our first time there was Tuesday morning. Around 10:30am. Not crowded. Love the calm atmosphere. The waitress was super friendly. Came by more than once to check on us. Food was amazing. Price is just right. The country potatoes were my favorite. Good cup of regular coffee, sugar, and cream. Parking lot filled up as we were leaving.

Half done with my breakfast and almost forgot to take a pic! Covered & smothered hash browns, eggs, bacon and coffee. Perfection. It's in a new strip mall, so I'm betting this was a relo, but it was filled with locals so there's a following. Keep my coffee filled and then leave me alone. Excellent service, nice job RJ.
