We have ordered from this place a couple of times and been happy. Each time I’ve spent about $50-$70 Some of that is because it’s delivery and fees. Tonight we ordered and our experience was horrible. I paid $6.50 for the baklava and you can see in the picture below it looks like a portion the size made for a Barbie. We ordered 2 chicken Schwarmas and 2 gyros. We were missing one gyro and the spicy sauce we paid for. I called the establishment. The first thing said to me after I explained the issue was “what do you want me to do?” I replied with “ what do you think you should do because I don’t know.” We live in Vancouver and only started ordering from here because of a good experience when we visited this food truck while at the growler place it sits behind. So we cannot travel there right now. He then started yelling at me that he will just give me a refund and telling me not to yell. He then hung up on me before any resolution was reached. He didn’t ask my name or order information or anything before he started yelling at me and hung up. I wasn’t yelling. I am a woman and I felt that he was insulted that I dare say something to him about anything. Unfortunately this experience has finished our want to ever order from here again. This was our 3rd time ordering and our last. Good job losing a customer when all you had to do was say oh I’m sorry we will take care of you next time you’re in Portland. If an establishment attempts to make it right I am all in and will be a loyal customer for life. Unfortunately whoever answers their phone chose to attack me and accuse me of yelling and then hang up. So I guess we...
Read moreIf you haven’t been to Abbas Food Cart, stop what you’re doing and go—now. This isn’t just street food; it’s a full-on flavor journey straight to the heart of the Middle East, served fresh from a humble cart with a whole lot of soul.
Let’s start with the shawarma—juicy, spiced to perfection, and grilled with a crisp edge that melts in your mouth. It’s wrapped in pillowy-soft pita and loaded with garlic sauce, tahini, and crunchy pickles that hit every taste bud with bold, balanced flavor. It’s messy in the best way, and so satisfying you’ll want to order another the moment you’re done.
The falafel? Unreal. Crispy golden crust, fluffy and fragrant inside, bursting with herbs and flavor. Abbas doesn’t cut corners—each falafel is made fresh, hot, and handed to you with a smile like he’s feeding family.
But the true unsung hero is the hummus. Silky smooth, nutty, garlicky, and topped with a swirl of olive oil and a sprinkle of sumac. Dip anything in it—pita, falafel, your fingers—it’s that good.
What really sets Abbas Food Cart apart isn’t just the food (though it’s phenomenal). It’s the warmth. Abbas is the kind of vendor who greets you with genuine kindness, remembers your favorite order, and makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit.
Fair prices, huge portions, and unforgettable flavor. Abbas Food Cart isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. A love letter to Middle Eastern street food, written in tahini and spice....
Read moreUnfortunately I will never eat here again. After placing my order I was told to return in 15 minutes to pick it up. I set my timer and returned (a few mins earlier actually) to be told by the same lady (owner I believe?) that someone had taken my order and I had to go into the bar (Chill N Fill) and find them to get my order back. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable doing this and she basically said I had no choice. So I walked through the many tables inside Chill N Fill and of course since Abbas is part of a food cart pod, there were many people with “to go” food cart bags. I didn’t see anyone with a fresh bag and honestly if I did, I didn’t really want to approach them and ask if they had the wrong order. I returned to Abbas and told the lady I couldn’t find anyone. She said she’d make my order again. The thing is that she had the other person’s order which included a mezze plate. Part of my order was a hummus plate and I was with a starving crowd so I asked if I could just have the leftover mezze in exchange for the hummus to start with. She said I had to pay $3 extra for it if I wanted it. Seriously? I had left a $5 + tip as well when I ordered. I said forget it I’ll just wait for the whole order to be remade. The food is actually delicious but given the other options and the lousy service, I’ll never eat...
