I'm so glad they bought this store and turned it into Bodega's! It used to be a dark, dingy, musty weird convenient store that was over priced and honestly just dirty. They did not have sandwiches. I went in and the owners had sold the store! It was clean inside! Well lit, chill comfy atmosphere but the sandwiches!!! 🤩😋 Everything is fresh! Im not kidding even i say it is one of the top 3 best sandwich shops in SE PDX. The sandwiches are huge and they don't skimp on the meat like some other chain fast food places (opposite of Subway with the 4 little slices of paper thin meat lol 😂). This is one of those meals that you can save half of it for a friend or for another meal (just don't let mayo sit on bread too long!). They kept the convenient store but it has a better vibe to it. Super love this joint. Best turkey sandwiches ever! Go if you haven't already! Yummm. I think I'm going to head up there now actually LOL ol. Google wanted me to do reviews but now that I'm thinking of this turkey sandwich, I'm putting my shoes on! Thank God they're only 3 blocks away 😁 the staff are cool people!...
Read moreStaff consistently does whatever they want. No consistency in food prep, ordering times, or online order availability. They turned off their online ordering well in advance of their takeout closing time, and I walked over there to order in person only to be told they decided to close already even though it was before their posted closing time. There was another couple already there that had been told the same thing and they were trying to panic figure out what they were going to purchase. They hadn’t completely closed the kitchen yet and could have accommodated the order but it’s clear that they didn’t want to. This is not the first time I’ve had issues with the bodega, and while I do enjoy the food, more of my time has been wasted there than I have actually been able to spend enjoying the food.
I spent years enjoying the actual bodegas they are trying to re-create and while the concept is good, it’s not executed properly.
I urge the owners to train the staff better, to be more consistent with the food preparation and operational decisions, and overall commitment to...
Read moreWhen this little neighborhood convenience store in the Southeast Foster road area changed hands I thought okay it's going to stay the same. Boy was I wrong. The new owner created some magic with installing a sandwich shop within the store. You can choose one of the delicious stationery sandwiches from there menu or you can create your own. I always ask for extra arugula and they know how to please me. The ingredients are all fresh and quite tasty with just the right amount of condiments. For the amount of creativity that goes into the sandwiches the price points are excellent. My taste buds are consistently satisfied. Oh and I can't forget to mention the baked goods. There's a fine selection that the owner's mother prepares with love. Some of the best baklava I've ever had, but her chocolate chip cookies are extraordinary and that's what I'm having tonight. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you're in the hood, you won't be disappointed. Plus a shout out to the employees that are helpful and always leave me...
