Best salad bar EVER. Better than actual salad bar restaurants. Best š.
Edit 2 years later: we stopped eating at this Round Table location. The pizza is still really good. We only go during the lunch or dinner buffet for $7.99. At first when we started going to this location, they would have all different kinds of pizzas out on the buffet and the salad bar was always fresh and stocked. We loved going and we usually went every Tuesday night for dinner.
Last summer (2019) we stopped going. They either had a large turnover with their staff or everyone seemed to get plenty lazy about making a variety of pizzas for the buffet, or stocking the salad bar with fresh veggies... for example sometimes there would just be a cold pepperoni pie and a cheese and jalepeƱo pie on the buffet... Neither of which our son would want to eat. A lot of people won't eat jalepeƱos! Or they would just have a bunch of the same kinds of pizza but some would sit and get old under the heater because people wanted something fresh or different. I'm not sure if upper management told them to cool it on certain ingredients or how many pizzas could be out but that was no good. The salad bar used to be our favorite! We loved it! However after a while, it seemed like their lettuce was always chopped super large, not bite sized, like someone was in a hurry and could care less how people get this salad in their mouths. All the veggies were fresh tasting before... The veggies started looking more and more old... Brown cauliflower and broccoli, dried out carrots, tomatoes tasted funky, my partner always loved getting pineapple from the salad bar for his pizza... Even the pineapple would get fermented because they were obviously just dumping in more and not washing or rinsing the container for the refill! Ever!!! We finally pointed it out, the fermented taste, to a very nice woman who worked there... She tasted some and was embarrassed, we could tell. Another time, my partner grabbed a parmesan shaker for our table... He started shaking it on... It was garlic salt. I took the shaker to the counter and the woman I spoke with didn't believe me. And She was pretty snotty about it. And I was polite as could be in telling her. I insisted it was garlic salt. She finally looked closer and smelled it.. Then shook some in her hand and was like "oh"..
Unfortunately, with all of this, we just decided it's not worth our money to go anymore when we keep getting disappointed. I feel bad because with all the other fancy pizza places popping up in this area, they aren't going to last much longer with the quality of food they're serving up... And we are sad about that because we're old school Portlanders, we aren't fond of all the change and we were trying to support this business that's been around... But we just can't if the food...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has been here for as long as I've been around. Their lunch buffet can be kind of slow depending on the day, i.e. there might not be a lot of pizza available and the wait for new pizza could be long. Make sure to call ahead of time if you want to reserve the back room, or part of the back room for a party or event. A few times we've come in hoping to snag the room for a birthday, to be told that the room is reserved for that time, but than have no additional party come in to use the back room. And it is awkward and loud to have a birthday party in the main dining room. Only a couple of times have we opted to not dine in or get delivery because it has been overly busy and they were understaffed. About 6-8 months ago, we ordered 2 pizzas and breadsticks to get delivered, and waited almost 2 hours, to have no food delivered to us. Called three times to see what was going on, to be lied to the first two times. Canceled the order all together because it is never okay to lie to a valued customer about where their food is after 2 hours. Had to take a break from RT for a month or two to see if this problems would be fixed. Haven't has trouble the maybe three times we've ordered pizza since that one incident. The pizza itself is pretty good. Breadsticks are the best part. I love customizing my own pizza here. It will cost a couple bucks more, but I have never disappointed. Personally, I haven't had a bad pizza here ever. Sometimes it feels like there is too much red sauce on their pizza, but I could always order with less sauce if I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been going to this location for years, but now will never return. I had the misfortune of placing an order on-line for the first time. After placing the order Zach called me to tell me they would have to charge me more for my half mushroom and whole olive large pizza and breadsticks order. It was already pricey so I said just cancel it. Several minutes later a very nice woman showed up with a medium pizza and breadsticks. I told her I had canceled my order so this couldnāt be right. She asked me to sign for the payment which said large pizza at the top. I did and even gave her a $5 tip. She apologized and said she would be back right away with my correct pizza. I opened the medium box and it was pepperoni. I tried to flag her down to give it back. I called the restaurant and the gentleman who answered used the F Word as he was upset she brought the wrong order. I waited almost one hour and the other pizza never arrived so I called. The manager David accused me of trying to get something for free and decided to use āhellā this time around. I wasnāt trying to get anything for free and was just honestly trying to figure out what was going on. Needless to say I will not be back. Itās too bad, as I used to really like...
