Real talk, I own a pizza food truck, and any time I’m near this place I stop and get food. The pizza is great. Crust has great flavor, perfect lite char on the bottom, cheese is on point, and the sauce is a great NYC style sauce. BUT, if you only came for the pizza, you missed out on an unexpected treat. The chicken fingers are the real showstopper. Hand breaded in panko and cornflake, just the right amount of seasoning, perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Probably the best chicken tender in southern Maine. That’s a wild statement about tenders coming out of a pizza shop. But I can promise you will not be disappointed with them. We stopped in for dinner and thought we give it try. It was spectacular. The place is one we will return to for sure. Atmosphere was fitting . We both got a pizza and tried the fries. I highly suggest getting the salt n vinegar fries. He uses tallow to fry them in which is amazing! They were delicious. The salt and vinegar was the perfect blend. The pizza was just right-a homemade crust and not too thick or thin. They cook them on a wood fire. The owner brought us out some mozzarella sticks to try and he nailed it. He explained how he looks for clean ingredients and most of his menu is homemade. All 3 were super. I highly suggest you give this place a try. We will definitely be back...

CARGO Pizza now has a joint at 1053 Forest Avenue in Portland! The new place is very clean and neat, with friendly, attentive, and positive staff. Check them out for great pizza in the CARGO tradition, crispy, delicious, and fresh. All the dough and all the sides are freshly made by CARGO, not bought-in.
