Daydreamer Coffee & Public House — Restaurant in Portland

This is a lovely neighborhood walk-up coffee joint tucked away in a parking lot on the corner of N Fessenden St and N Burr Ave. The owners and operators are friendly and welcoming, which creates a pleasant atmosphere.

The coffee is great! There are a number of menu options. My personal favorites are the Cherry Bomb Mocha and Sarah Smile. For you more adventurous coffee fiends, there are some fun add-ons as well; cardamom, lavender, hemp, and amarena cherry. You can also add CBD to any drink if you feel so inclined.

Take advantage of the bagel selections, too, if you're hungry. The 'Lizzo' is great! Bagels slathered in Nutella or scallion cream cheese are great for breakfast! There are vegan options here, too.

There is a covered outdoor area, with picnic bench styled seating. The owners recently opened a newly-renovated indoor space in the adjacent building, which also serves as an event space.

What to say? I'm addicted to their Chai (go with hemp milk - there's this amazing nutty synergy that happens). And sometimes their Rose Cardomon Latte with coconut milk can save a lousy day. Mostly what can take my day over the top is just hanging out in line, meeting other Daydreamers, feeling part of the community. Cat and Caryn have made their sweet coffee cart an oasis of friendliness in this time of pandemic anxiety and loneliness for so many. They seriously were a major part of our decision to move to St. Johns. ...oh, and our pup practically drags us there for doggie treats and extra love. And the ever-changing really great free library. My friend Marcy and I walked on over here for a bagel and coffee upon neighborhood recommendations for a coffee spot off the main strip on St. Johns. Still located centrally, this little cart offers a respite from the regular traffic on Lombard. I had the Billie Eilish which is a toasted blueberry bagel with a house made jalapeño cream cheese which was sweet with just a slight spicy bite of jalapeño. We also had a Lizzo which is sesame with chive cream cheese. The whole milk iced latte and the cold brew with cream were deliciously crewed and served with eco conscious cups.
