As a neighbor to this corner market and Gyro grill, it has become a frequent stop for myself and friends who come over to my house. Every time I walk in the store I am always greeted with a smile and feel welcome. There are many things I love about this place. To start, all the employees are extremely nice and friendly, they have a fantastic selection of beer to choose from, and the food is PHENOMENAL. The flavor is always on point!! I have never been disappointed from a meal I have gotten from there! it is fast (if they aren't busy), and it's is a great price point for the amount of food you get! At first glance of the store from outside, you wouldn't expect to get the quality of food you actually receive. As the saying goes "you can't judge a book by its cover." But these guys do it right and might turn an atheist into a believer of gyros. Some say they could eat Mexican, Thai, or whatever cuisine for the rest of their life but I'd bet money after eating from Gyro grill you'd choose Middle Eastern food. I usually get the falafel because I don't eat meat and it is the best falafel I've had in Portland. Give these guys a shot if you're looking to have a gyro for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Keep killin' it guys! I can't...
Read moreThis will be my last time I eat from this place. It was a wonderful little secret place we've eaten at for years. The food has always been great. Used to look forward about once a month to the treat. This is second time the quality of food has been sub par. The portions are much smaller, the price has of course increased. I'm charged for extra things I've ordered to the classic lamb plate, but when it's time to eat. Items are missing. I kicked myself for not opening the very tight knot in the bag, before I leave the store. Because it's always done and ready to go when I walk in to pick my order. I'm tired and it's busy. So I didn't. Unfortunately this is the second time that I've paid for things that are missing. I paid for Naan and extra garlic sauce and again even after I asked. It was not in the order. This of course is not the end of the world. But when you've fought traffic after a long day and you fight more traffic to get home and serve dinner. It's a huge bummer to have...
Read moreIf you want to get something different every time even if you order the same thing every time this is the place to go. Sometimes you have to ask for onions or taziki on a gyro or shwarma. They are supposed to come with onions and taziki.
The shwarmas are smaller than the gyros but cost 50 cents more. This was explained to me as the tortilla cost more than the pita bread. In what world is that true? I have heard good things about this place but mostly how it used to be. The first time I went it was during covid the friendly young man wasn't wearing his mask over his nose. Regardless what you think about masks he is required to wear one correctly. The other times the food was missing ingredients and took a long time to prepare. I would not eat there again The gyros at arby's taste ok and are...
