Read moreHawthorne Hideaway truly stands out as a gem in the Portland live music scene. Having played there with my band, Izy Kactus, I can personally attest to the electrifying atmosphere and the exceptional service that makes every show unforgettable. It's not just a bar; it's a vibrant live music haven that brings together artists and music lovers in a truly special way.
The venue strikes the perfect balance between a charged live music space and a cozy spot to unwind. The stage is well-set for performers, offering just the right vibe to connect with the audience intimately, while the separate chill area provides a peaceful retreat for those moments when you want to step away from the buzz and have a conversation or just relax.
One of the standout features of Hawthorne Hideaway is its sound system, managed by a sound guy who's not only great at what he does but is also incredibly easy to work with. This makes a world of difference for bands, ensuring that each performance is not just heard but felt deeply by everyone in the room.
The bartenders at Hawthorne Hideaway deserve a special mention for their top-notch service. They are attentive, friendly, and genuinely add to the positive experience with their great attitudes and quick service. It’s rare to find a place where the staff is as excited about the music as the audience and performers are.
In summary, Hawthorne Hideaway offers an unbeatable live music experience in Portland. Whether you’re there to play or just enjoy the music, it’s an awesome place with a great vibe, fantastic sound, and a welcoming atmosphere. It's definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic live...

The gentleman (blonde, very short hair) looks at me. I mouth to him that it isn’t cool to just brush trash into the street, that he should pick them up. He mouths what I believe was “F you”. I’d expect a local bar to want to take care of it’s city. That just isn’t cool. If you can’t afford a dust pan and a trash can to put it all in,...
