This space will always have a special place in my heart. My name is Daniel and I'm the founder of a social club called the Portland Digital Dabblers. During the pandemic, it was a struggle to find businesses that would be willing to host larger study groups but the wonderful baristas at the Eastside Coffee Bar and Workspace were always accommodating of our group. As we slowly grew in popularity and size inevitably we just outgrew the space but this review has been looong overdue. Because of their help we were able to build a wonderful community for neurodivergent folks like myself who were seeking a safe space to collaborate on digital art projects and continuing education for adults. We owe our survival to ECBW and will FOREVER be grateful. Hands down, my favorite coffee shop in ALL of Portland and much more down-to-earth than the folks at Honey Latte. They really thought of everything. The lighting is warm (not fluorescent - thank you!). It feels home-y and cozy but also clean but not too clean that it feels sterile. There are private booths to work from if you need quite. There is a printer. They play music that is instrumental and calm.
The coffee is also great and reasonably priced - they don’t scorch your milk like many other spots (aka, you buy a cappuccino, and you get a real 6oz microfoam cup of coffee).
Highly recommended - I almost hesitate to write this because I don’t want some TikToker to make this place go viral...

However if you are here to work on a Bible study with a Bible and a printed lesson, the lighting is very poor. When I was a member of Hinson, the coffee shop was presented as a place where people could come and share their Christian experience with each other. But that is not the way it turned out, and with the large number of coffee shops within walking distance, I believe it was an extravagant investment in "carrying coals...
