If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, I highly recommend visiting this Ethiopian restaurant! My recent meal there was nothing short of spectacular. The service was outstanding—friendly and attentive staff who made sure we felt welcome and well taken care of throughout our visit.

I had the pleasure of trying two incredible dishes: kitfo and tibs. The kitfo was perfectly seasoned, with finely minced raw beef marinated in a blend of spices and served with a side of creamy ayib (Ethiopian cheese) and sautéed greens. The flavor was rich and bold, giving me a true taste of Ethiopia.

The tibs, on the other hand, were a delightful surprise. The tender pieces of meat were sautéed to perfection with onions, peppers, and a blend of spices, creating a hearty and satisfying dish. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and it paired wonderfully with the injera.

Overall, this restaurant offers an authentic Ethiopian dining experience that is not to be missed. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Ethiopian cuisine or trying it for the first time, you'll leave satisfied and eager to return. Don’t miss out...

I am not surprised by the impeccable reviews for Lalibela and 100% agree with people saying this is the best Ethiopian food in Portland. I've tried a number of Ethiopian restaurants in this area and am so happy to find this gem! Can confidently say that finding a restaurant serving Ethiopian food better than this one is going to be a big challenge.

We ordered the vegetarian platter and each element of the dish was fresh and scrumptious and the injera was on point. The service was also excellent and we loved the homey vibe of the place. The smell of aromatic spices and fresh coffee, the comforting and warm food in this cold season along with the service created an unforgettable experience and will definitely bring us back.

The only minor issue we faced was street parking which was a bit difficult to find since it was Saturday afternoon and we ended up parking about a 3-4 minute walk away.

On a side note, my curiosity also got me searching for the name and it's history on the internet and the story of Lalibela is nothing short of...

Easy to find and only 15 minute drive from our home in Vancouver. Arrived at 6pm and found parking for our large truck immediately. Walked right in and we were greeted with kind, welcoming energy right away. Before even entering we could smell the intoxicating aromas of fresh cooked cuisine. Perfect pace of service for dinner. With a pleasant community taking part in this beautiful dance of culture and creativity. We shared the special combo and the two of us could not finish it. Everything on the platter was bright, fresh, crisp and made with care. Typing this the next day I realize that I feel amazing! Such healthy, delicious, clean food to make me feel energized for the next day! If you only go to try the homemade tea, you will have a story to tell your friends. Take your time and sip it slow. Inhale the spices and see if you can detect cardamom, cinnamon, clove. Absolutely uplifting. Next time we go in we are taking our son. He...

The lady I work with took me to lunch today and oh my goodness is all I can say this is fantastic out of this world vegetarian food. I’ve had Ethiopian food before in Portland, but nothing compares to this especially you know when you don’t really eat meat and you’re looking for something that is really fresh and this food is so fresh. The owner even showed me her kitchen and it’s so clean! While I was sitting there, I noticed that there were other Ethiopians coming in, and purchasing from the woman that owns the restaurant. If Ethiopians are purchasing the food, it must be good. I am telling you it is so tasty and they have tons of options and all their Injera is gluten-free. They have both white teff and brown Teff injera. I also love the smell of the restaurant because they did a coffee ceremony and it just said the atmosphere I will be back.

Wow , this place opened close to our spa and man is the food fantastic ! I came in to get the Samosa, and they are so light and so flavorful . Also the green sauce that they have to dip it in, is so spicy and flavorful too. But it’s not overpoweringly hot. The place is so clean. I love it. The owner comes out and greet you. She’s very kind. She even gave me a sample of her beer that she makes in house from barley and almost taste like iced coffee. I recommend you try this Ethiopian restaurant off of MLK the food flavors are very balanced, and the portions above average, as well compared to other Ethiopian restaurants.
