We had a wonderful stay Portland Eco House. I have been recommending staying there to all of my friends since! Everything was perfect and just like the photos. We stayed 2 nights in the Patio Cottage which was so cozy and had everything we needed. The owner keeps it very clean, and was also drying off the patio furniture from the rain right before we arrived. There was a pretty big rain & wind storm, so we spent more time inside than anticipated, and we were so grateful to spend that time in the patio cottage with the separate area with the couch. The layout makes it feel so spacious- it could be compared to booking a hotel suite rather than regular room. However, unlike staying in a hotel, everything is cozy and homey, and all of the bright colors, dimmable lights, decoration and style was so much better than a sterile hotel room. The thick curtains along the patio cottage doorway and also some separating the bedroom from the living room area, made it possible to block out the light if you want to sleep in, and created a very private feeling when you wanted it while giving you the option to open everything up to get the sunlight in too. We weren't expecting the curtain separating the bedroom area, so that was a pleasant surprise when we decided we wanted to sleep in! We also didn't know all of the lights are dimmable, which lets you change the vibe as you want to. The bed was also so comfy! Not something you get every time you book a room or Airbnb!
The owner, Scott, is very friendly and welcoming. He made sure we had everything we needed, while also giving plenty of space for our privacy. You can tell how much intention he puts into everything from the sustainability, decor, art, cleanliness and more.
The location is walking distance from all of the things we wanted to do on our trip, and the neighborhood was peaceful and safe, while having all of the fun things to explore and go out on the town at night was just a few minutes away.
We said several times when we were there how we would love to stay again. It also feels good to know your money is going to a place that is so Intentional with sustainability and being eco-friendly, and to a really nice owner.
For anyone who is vegan: The two of us are vegan, so it was also great to know that Scott is a long time vegan and everything was vegan-friendly. Everything from non-down pillows, to all soaps, materials, ect. being vegan. The kitchen has everything you need if you'd like to cook, and is also walking distance or less than 5 minute drive away from many vegan eats!
10/10. We can't wait to stay at Portland Eco...
Read moreThe Serene Space lives up to its name! And it was just what I needed. Due to a turn of events, I had to find a new place to stay in Portland and Scott came to the rescue. Luckily, he had a room available the in the truly special EcoHouse! The Serene Space room has great natural light and a big closet. The walls are painted a soothing lavender with a darker purple accent wall. The bed was super cozy! I sat in the corner chair between the two windows and blissfully counted my lucky stars to have such a sweet spot to spend the night. In the morning, there was an electric kettle and tea available. I sat at the dining table sipped tea and checked emails. The decor is tasteful and Scott has created an incredible environmentally sustainable home. The house even has a golden Buddha to greet you as you enter. It is pure peace staying there: quiet, safe and calming. Scott was easy to communicate with and he made sure all my needs were met. I’m planning on staying here again the next time I’m in...

I have everything I need, it's on a quiet street right near Alberta, and Scott is an amazing host. If you have questions about the area, he has the answers. The property is beautiful. I love hanging out on the patio with my coffee when I wake up. Thanks so much, Scott. You know I'll be back!
This is a hidden gem! I was looking online for somewhere to stay that was near the Alberta Arts area, and this place stood out right away. I booked directly with Scott, who is a phenomenal host! I stayed in the Patio Cottage and loved it! It's a bit like a tiny home, and everything you need is pretty much provided. I didn't rent a car this trip, but the parking sites great. My son and DIL could always find a space. The patio is inviting, and I spent some time out there just relaxing. The grounds are beautiful, with a variety of plants and flowers.
I will definitely...
