Third times a charm!! I don't ever do this, as I am food service industry. However, I feel everyone should be warned. First time: I went there my husband and I parked with our car about a foot into the yellow painted area while I ran in to grab our to go food he waited in the car. The manager made a point of stopping her car directly behind mine, got out and proceeded to yell at us about how they are constantly in and out of that area and continued to do so even after we explained that we were just going in to grab our TOGO food. She had plenty of room to get around us. The food was average at best. Second time (maybe she was just in a bad mood?): ordered the curry for delivery because we didn't want to deal with the manager again. Took more than an hour to get here and the food was completely cold. Third time (because at this point I am just hoping that the previous two were just bad timing because the reviews seem to be better than my experiences. I call and again ask for delivery. The person on the phone sighs loudly in disapproval and actually says "do you even know what you want?" I say yes and begin to place my order, she stops me mid sentence and says she has to put me on mute for a few minutes and will be back. 5 minutes go by and she returns. The entire time I'm talking to her she is ignoring me and I have to repeat all of my information address, phone number, name, numerous times as I can tell she is either doing something else or specifically trying not to allow this transaction to happen. I finally get my order placed. 1 hour later, it arrives, cold as hell again!! Chicken was dry as a towel, spinach and broccoli completely uncooked and luke warm peanut sauce poured over the top with a heavy ladel. Calimari was undercooked and a rubber consistency. Worst Thai food I have ever had. Don't care if they are the only thai delivery service in the area. I will never allow them to rob me of my money again. Consider yourself warned. I wish I could give them 0 stars....
Read moreWe have been to this restaurant several times and have always felt like the food was good enough. However, today's visit was very disappointing. Our drunken noodle order was not well made. We were only one of 2 couples in the restaurant, so there was plenty of time for our food to get made, but it was clear that it was made in a rush. The noodles were undercooked and bland. No smokey char flavor whatsoever, and no color to the dish except chili oil. When we were asked how our food was, I mentioned that my dish had no depth of flavor and was not good compared to other times we'd ordered it. We don't like to send food back as we don't like the idea of adding to food waste, so we didn't send it back but probably should have. We left feeling very unsatisfied and never received any sort of apology, nor did anyone seem to really care about our experience. We were charged in full and we paid for food we ultimately didn't enjoy. Very disappointing experience. I highly doubt we'd ever come back.
There are too many very good Thai restaurants in the Portland area to consider coming back to a place that doesn't value their customers' experience. We had a much better time at Siri Thai 2 nights before this - better and more flavorful food, great staff, and larger portions...
Read moreI think their food is quite good, but I've been a bit disappointed by their clarity on the phone. The one phone person I just talked to could barely speak English. I don't at all care if someone can speak English in general, but if your job is to take orders and get them right, it's kind of important. If they ask you, "What kind of meat do you want in that?" and you say, "Tofu," you can expect to get a dish that is ENTIRELY tofu - not a mix of tofu and vegetables like you would get at virtually any other Thai restaurant. If you call about it later, they will say, "You said you wanted tofu, not tofu and vegetables." Also, unlike virtually any other Thai restaurant, they don't give you rice with your curry. You have to pay for it if you want it. Also, they won't generally substitute one vegetable for another - you pay for it. I wanted to add broccoli to one of my dishes tonight and said I'd be happy to forgo the baby corn and carrots, but still had to pay for it - three bucks. To pay $3 extra to add broccoli to a dish that's $7.95, you'd expect to get a lot of it. But you'd be wrong. I keep going back though,...
