Marty’s Sandwich Depot — Restaurant in Portland

So yummy! I've lived here for only a couple months and I drive by the food carts on Foster all the time (they also have a beer garden, picnic tables in the shade, and are dog friendly). Decided to stop today on a whim. I normally check reviews before trying someplace new, but felt like taking a chance and following my gut, quite literally.

I love sandwiches, almost as much as I love my dog. This spot was quality, top notch sammies!! I will definitely be going back. The tomato jam was just absolutely delicious, and I don't even know what it is, haha.

There are few places that hit the spice just right in their food. Trying to be Gluten free, I went for their Vegan Chili Cup. Boy I was in for a surprise. Cup of Chili was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. It was one of those things, I took a bite and I couldn't stop after that. I've attached a picture but it doesn't do justice as I ate most of it before I remembered to take a picture. Food here is clean, simple, filling and full of nutrition and flavor. Cute little shop in a nice cart pod with plenty of seating, sunlight, and a covered area for the rain. The sandwiches are fantastic - vegan and vegetarian options available, and salads available for gluten free (gf) folks! The cheese they use is incredible, as is the bread, and I don’t know how they prepare their mushrooms, but it’s sorcery, they’re sooooo good! The sandwiches are a good size - big and filling and worth the price, but wrapped well and small enough that you can eat them one-handed while driving or walking without worrying about losing too...
