MR. C's BBQ & Catering — Restaurant in Portland

BUYER BEWARE! Unless you personally know Tim or have located his food truck recently, I would not recommend counting on his catering services. I called Mr C's a month in advance of my organization's annual Summer event. Tim assured me he was available on the date I requested and that he could definitely provide food for 20 people. A week before our event, I called to confirm the headcount and menu. He told me about his 3 meat options and asked me to choose 2 sides. We had the menu set for pulled pork, chicken, beans, and coleslaw. At $11/plate, I was stoked! Everything was set. 24 hours in advance of the event, I called to confirm my order and inquire about where/when I was to pick up the food. I left a voicemail for him at 9am. At the end of the day, I hadn't heard from him and called again, straight to voicemail. Getting a little nervous, I decided to drive to his Google location, sure he was busy serving food as his hours were 1-8pm and he'd get back to me after his shift. Arrived at the food truck pod and didn't see Mr C's truck. Asked a taco truck nearby if he knew where the BBQ man was, his response: "He hasn't been here for a while, maybe 2 months? I think he went to Vegas." In full panic mode, I called Tim again, straight to voicemail for the 3rd time. Then I sent a text: Is this Tim? 30 minutes later: "Yes." Phew! I got a hold of him! I told him I was just trying to confirm picking up BBQ for 20 people for an event the next day. His response: "Ok wat was your order gain? sorry been so busy with booking orders for all next month!! :)" I proceeded to remind him of the menu we confirmed a week prior. I asked where/when I could pick the food up. Could I please get confirmation it would be available? I stated I'd left him voicemails and need food for an event the next day. He responded to nothing. The last text I sent was "Hello?" at 9:22pm. At 9:30pm, I knew I had to arrange alternative plans to feed 20 people the next day. I was incredibly disappointed and shocked at this business owners's decision to be MIA after confirming the menu and assuring me he did this all of the time. I am not normally a "poor review" person, but I don't want anyone else to have the same experience of last minute...

I sent one of my minions up to retrieve us some nosh the food was good but the service was horrible, the lady keep telling him it will be 5 minutes after an hour he finally got some food 2 tiny ribs and a very cold pulled pork Sammy, the people behind him all got served before Rodrigo still being told 5 minutes and Mr.C just complained about the customers using the flyers for the grand opening like I said the food was good but small and cold maybe I will try it again & update my review time will tell, keep Portland weird & eat...

Great food with incredible taste. If you are looking for a BBQ spot you can tell all your friends and family about, this is it!!! The owner is phenomenal!! Was very patient answering all my questions about the different things on the menu. I would get there early. Line starts atb10 am with an 11am open.
