Called to ask about reserving a table for 7. They take all my info and tell me they have availability. After taking my info, they tell me they charge a deposit of $20/person, but it is applied to the bill at the end. This ultimately made me financially responsible for the entire meal (which I didn't want?), but we did it anyway.
One person doesn't show, so it's 6 of us. The table we were seated at was the only one that would be able to accommodate 6+ anyway. ANYWAY, I think the worst part was when they told us at the end that, "because you booked for 7 and only 6 arrived, the $20 you paid for the 7th person is usually forfeited, but we're gonna do you a solid and apply it to the bill..."
WOW THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing me SUCH A SOLID and applying the money I paid for the deposit towards the bill like you told me you would in the first place. What a kind favor. She would have been better off saying nothing.
Really feels like they had one bad experience with no-show reservation and are making the rest of their customers pay for it. As a business, you incur risk. Stop making it the customer's problem.
Also, all of our drinks had salt in them where we thought there would be sugar? For example, a cherry garnish that looked to be covered in sugar, was actually a salt-covered cherry (fried my taste buds, thought they mixed up the salt with the sugar). The food was meh.
We were visiting from out of town and this reservation policy made me so stressed out. But to act like they were doing us a favor following through on applying the deposit towards bill? I will...
Read moreI live walking distance. I’ve eaten here 3 times, ordered pad kee mao with tofu 3 times, it tasted different everytime, is more expensive than the average Thai place but not better….like it’s good/okay. It’s convenient and good for when I’m craving Thai even though it’s not the best.
Now I have a bit of grudge because of the wildly bizarre experience I just had. I tried to stop in today on my way back from doing some work at a nearby coffee shop. I went in to use the bathroom first and then sit at the completely empty bar but was told to go back outside by a person not doing anything - into the cold because “the host is outside.” It was awkward and he was actually not outside. I waited for a minute with another to-be patron, and the host stepped outside from inside the restaurant.
The host (from what I could tell), was a big white guy, in traditional African clothing and jewelry/accessories. He proceeded to tell me I could not take the travel mug I had with me, inside. I showed him it was empty, but he insisted it was the policy for him to confiscate it or throw it away. It felt like I was going into a night club and not a Thai restaurant. It’s just supposed to be convenient, but I really don’t think I’ll be eating here again. The back and forth felt like a skit straight out of Portlandia. I left and had a laugh. Saved money and ate at...
Read moreLooks like I am late to the party and the whole town just knows about this place already! We were recommended this place by a sweet couple we met at a bar few weeks back and since they raved so highly we had to come and try the food for ourselves. Came on a weekend but were fortunate to get a seat indoor. Our server was extremely sweet and fun to talk to and talked us through our menu confusions. We had - Pad Gai Tod - I can say ten different things I loved about this and still have more to add. First of the coating is so less that You can actually taste the spices and chicken,no oil dripping from the chicken pieces was a plus in my books. We got the laab spiced version and loved it .The carrot and radish side was such a great addition. Thai omelette Laab- This was highly recommended by our server and I can see why . It was very different from what usual Thai food I am used to. Not my favorite amongst the things we ordered but not bad either. Ba Mhee pitsanulok - OMG !It was such a delicious thing to have on one of these cold Oregon nights. For the uninitiated its pretty similar to Ramen and packs a punch. So much umami ,perfectly boiled noodles and the pork ..oh my god the pork was to die for. Highly recommended! The drinks were every bit as good as the food and complimented the...
