::update 9/19-including cut & pastes of my emails to and from their representative at the bottom of this review::
Today 9/12 @430pm my wife and our daughter came in for pizza. The big guy behind the counter had a gun tucked into his waist band. You read that right, a GUN TUCKED into his WAISTBAND. Not holstered in a safe manor, Just tucked into his pants. Might I reiterate that it was today, at 430 in the afternoon. Words escape me when I try to describe how upsetting I find this. This is a family restaurant, how does this level of irresponsibility keep anyone safe? How is this considered appropriate? If this person isnât responsible enough to secure their firearm, what happens when they need to de-escalate a situation?
::cut & paste:: Hi there! You responded to my review of your employee with a gun in his waistband. Iâm unsure what the misunderstanding is? I am interested to hear your thoughts. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Hi Tanaz, Thank you for following up. I wanted to apologize for your experience on Friday, we had no knowledge of this prior to you reaching out to us and we will be taking appropriate steps to address this internally. Thank you for reaching out and we hope that you have a good rest of your week. Tim
Hello Tim. Thank you for your response and apology. I will share that with my wife and daughter. I do have some follow up questions. When you say that you were unaware of this issue, does that means that you did not know that your employee was bringing a firearm to work? Does this business have a policy in place when it comes to guns in the workplace? What is your companyâs policy when it comes to de-escalation techniques and approaches? Is anyone on-site a current or former holder of a dpsst certificate? Does this employee have a concealed carry permit? I ask all these questions because theyâre relevant to community safety, and my familyâs experience felt unsafe to them. Thank you for your time and I look forward to...

I needed a break. đ
So, obviously the best "go-to" food that you just can't go wrong with is pizza, right? So, after my Wednesday Running Group, we went to what we know what is good, Pizza Roma in Woodstock.
Masks are required which is expected, but this establishment isn't partaking in any of the Social Discrimination Policies that some restaurant owners/management are choosing to do.
Seemed like today the staff was doing some cleaning, but we were still welcomed to come in, order, and dine in with pizza and beer. Although there were some new faces to me, the staff were friendly, attentive, quick and responsive, which just adds to a relaxing and enjoyable meal.
Admittedly, I saw a few new items on the menu that I find intriguing, so I will have to come and try some the hot hoagies that now have.
All in all, at the end of any meal I often will ask, "Would you come back?" Of course it's quite obvious, I keep coming back to Pizza Roma. Most likely since the staff are great, the food and drinks are tasty, and the establishment doesn't partake in any form of discrimination.
So, if you ever get a chance, definitely try it once and decide for yourself.
Enjoy!
02/23/20: 4.5 out of 5 - One of the favorites "go to" locales with my Wednesday night run group for pizza by the slice and cold beer. Came here today on a Sunday. This is a great local place in Woodstock that has great pizza selections, as well as other menu items, ample seating, friendly service and clean bathrooms (you all know a clean bathroom makes a huge difference).
If you ever get a chance, try the Shroom! It is fantastically delicious.
Definitely worth a try once and decide for yourself. I know I'll be going back for...
Read moreMy partner and I went to take our little one to get a late night slice of pizza at 9:30pm. The three of us were enjoying our food when I overheard a conversation from a man saying he was hungry and wanted a slice of pizza. The waiter gets him a slice walks to the register and sayâs that will be $2.00. The guy (Gabriel) put his hands in his pockets and said he didnât have $2.00. The waiter said ok youâre not welcome here if ur not buying anything. Gabriel said ok and left. I knocked on the window and motioned for him to come back. We asked him to have a seat next to us and bought him pizza and shared our wings. Gabriel was so polite and grateful for the food. A young g man walks up to our table and said hey you need to leave we donât allow panhandling here. My partner say hey wait a minute heâs a paying customer whoâs eating his meal with us now.
The waiter walked off rolled his eyes and was clearly upset with us.
Fast forward to 9:55pm we walk up to the counter as we are leaving and ask the waiter hey can we trust that a Gabriel will be fine and treated like a paying customer while he finishes his meal? Do u believe the waiter said âactually we would prefer he leaves with you. WOW!!!
Rick lost his shit and told them they are inhumane and has no respect for the human race. Rick did get a little loud as he felt bad for the guy. He was not causing any grief he was just hungry. Also he looked clean cut not dirty.
Fast forward again. Rick leaves goes to the car I go back in and ask for the owners name. The waiter writes the GMâs name on a sheet of paper and told me to go ahead and call but it wonât do me any good because my partner and I are now banded from ever coming back!! Mind you we frequent this little shop weekly. Weâll never ever again will I spend another penny at the place.
