Great food! Everything was delicious. I had the vegetarian combo with bake on the side (not stuffed) so I can try a little bit of everything. The dahl was amazing just like everyone on here have said. The bake was heaven. It was hot, fresh, and devoured in seconds. Kind of a cross between a naan and pita, but fried. Gave it a 4/5 due to lack of heat. I love extra spicy food and when I saw that the chef makes his own Guyanese hot sauce I was sold, but it wasn't spicy at all. If you can get your hands on a bottle of Bedessee Guyanese Pride hot sauce, you won't be disappointed. The portions were enormous as well. I would say one combo can feed two people easily. The staff was nice and the wait time was quick. Overall a great experience.
I am a huge foodie and am always down to try new things. I never had Guyanese food (besides their hot sauce) so I ventured out on this side of town to try it. Though the food was great, it tasted similar to Indian food. The spices were the same and so was the texture. Not sure if it was because I only had the vegetarian options, but I couldn't taste anything unique. Definitely will be back again so that I can try their sweets and...
Read moreWow… What can I even say about this place. It is an absolute slam dunk! From the moment we got here, the owner greeted us and provided us immediately with samples, and not just like a piece of something on a stick… Like a real actual sample, he wanted us to try the food and really get to know it before placing an order. I really didn’t even feel like he needed to do that because we were going to order anyway, but talk about customer service! Anyway, he gave us background on Guyanese food in the United States and in particular on the West Coast, which is apparently a very unique experience, so it felt really special that we were there to try It. My partner and I ended up getting the Guyanese chow mein noodles as well as the chickpea and potato chana aloo, both were unbelievably flavorful and so so delicious. We were both blown away by this meal and would absolutely come back here to eat on a regular basis if we lived in Portland. Thank you so much to Bake on the Run, an authentic Guyanese cuisine and experience, this is definitely one for the books and one I will truly not forget...

My partner and I came here for a quick lunch bite, and before ordering we were give a few free samples to try. You can see that the owner is very proud of his cuisine and he is right to be - everything we tried was amazing!
We ended up getting the Guyanese Dahl on Basmati Rice, the Chef Bibi's Guyanese Vegan Chow Mein and the Chana Aloo Curry in a Bake. The Bake was my absolute favorite!! Everything we ordered is vegan and I wish we lived in Portland to go back and try more vegan options!
The portions are quite generous so we had leftover dinner (that we ate cold because our hotel room didn't have a microwave - but even then everything still tasted delicious!!)
Honestly, words cannot do it justice, you need to try this place for yourself!
The outdoor seating area is also very cute, love all the murals and it's very clean. You can get a drink at the Brewery next door to complete the experience. You won't be...
