Portland, Maine’s Best sandwich/wrap shop of 2023 Po' Boys & Pickles is the real deal! The authentic Creole New Orleans' flavors are on point. Counter service was fast and friendly. The Blackened fish sandwich($15) is not to be missed! The sandwich is dressed with Cajun Cole slaw, sliced tomato and red pepper mayo. This is a huge sandwich, easily shareable and absolutely delicious!! The bread is from Leidenheimer Bakery, New Orleans. Founded in 1896, Leidenheimer's is the last of the old-school Po' boy bakeries. Po' Boys & Pickles has made the commitment to using the best bread and most authentic ingredients in all of their Po' boys and sandwiches. Truly an homage to New Orleans!! You can taste the goodness in every bite. The perfect accompaniment was a basket of sweet potato fries($6). The fries were perfectly crisp, not greasy, plentiful and delicious. Great quality, inexpensive dining experience!! I love this place and you will too! Highly recommend.

This place is phenomenal. I’m not exactly a Portland local but go to Portland every day due to college. Everytime I passed them I said to my self ā€œI should check them outā€ and I finally did and it was worth it! I had there angry pig sandwich and voodoo wings and both of them were phenomenal The sandwich was flavorful, filled with Cajun taste and the tenderness and umami flavor of the meat helped pull everything together The voodoo wings were spicy but flavorful due to it mix of secret ingredients and Thai chili This place is going to be a place I keep returning to! Would recommend if your a local(if you haven’t been here) and if your a traveler.

Stopped in tonight (8/27/21) about 6pm. I just got into town on a plane from Oregon 2 days ago. The girl running the counter was sweet. She welcomed me to Portland, and was quite bubbly and chatty. In a good way. It didn't seem fake or put on. I got The Cheeseburger Poboy. It was a fine sammich. I will be back to try many more. The Pickles were great, will get extra next time. I saw they had Homemade Doughnut Holes, ill be trying those too. Oh,and Wings. šŸ˜

I called in my order of a BLT. You'd think it would have been one of the simplest things. When I went in to pick up my order, the staff was indifferent and, seems to not care that I'd even walked in. When they finally acknowledged me standing there I was able to pay for and pick up my sandwich. I drove back to my work to eat there. When I unwrapped my sandwich the Bacon was seriously Raw aka UNCOOKED. Greasy, cold, raw bacon strips ... Well, my lunch was over! I'd never been and won't ever be back. Did I do something to you all ? Are you Hatfields and I'm a McCoy ? Sweet Jesus! I was so disgusted and just threw it in the trash. I don't have time or money to throw around on food or medical issues. Did you know that you can get sick from eating raw pork (bacon is pork) Here is a explanation from MedicineNet ~ Trichinosis infection definition and facts Trichinosis is caused by eating raw or undercooked pork and wild game infected with the larvae of a parasitic worm. The contaminated meat is infected with the larvae of a worm called Trichinella spiralis. The initial symptoms of trichinosis are: Abdominal discomfort Nausea Diarrhea Vomiting Fatigue Fever The severity of symptoms depends on the number of infectious worms consumed in the meat. Never eat raw or undercooked pork or wild game. If you think you may have trichinosis, seek...

This place is off the charts with the flavors, man. I couldn't even believe all the stuff they had on their menu. I'm so glad they opened up this place, because I haven't seen anything like it in Maine.

We brought in a party of 6, and stayed for like 2 hours, eating all kinds of delicious treats. It was hard to choose what we were getting, but everyone was extremely happy with their choices.

I highly recommend the Jamaican jerk wings!!!! They were so freaking GOOOD!! It takes a lot for me to try wings, but these delivered and delivered and delivered. My stepson is the most picky eater in the world, and doesn't ever use condiments or dressing or anything. He LOVED the wings!! He even made us get another order after we were finished.

The atomic patty melt is so crispy and substantial. I've never had one this decked out before. The jalapenos and bacon jam were the ultimate addition to this classic.

I also want to mention that they have a whole milkshake menu!! WHAAAAT? If I hadn't eaten so much other food, I would have joined my family in their shakedom.

This was supposed to be just a stop before our evening destination, but nobody could stop talking about this place. It really was a highlight of an already exciting evening.

We have already planned to come back...

Time of Visit: Lunch on the 21st Order: Blackened fish sandwich, and cajun fried Pros: Blackened fish was incredible Cons: Bread was just average, parking could get out of hand when very busy

Thoughts: The blackened fish sandwich here is out of this world! We went here on the way to the airport with my parents and got 3 large blackened fish sandwiches. First of all when they say large, what they really mean is 2 medium sandwiches on one tray, so if you get a large, you had better be hungry. Once you get over the shock of how much you just got and bite in…holy crap this is some of the best fish I've ever eaten, and by far the best blackened fish sandwich I've ever eaten. You get a ton of fish on this thing; it isn't your normal fish sandwich where you get a little fish with your bread. This is a pile of fish between toppings sandwich and it is SO GOOD! The cajun fries were also incredible but honestly if you get a large fish sandwich you really don't need anything else. I do wish that their bread was just a bit higher quality and it might move from the best blackened fish sandwich to the best sandwich of all. Definitely check this place out if you're ever...
