May 2020: OK, we are all dealing with Covid-19 at the moment and one needs to be a bit more tolerant and understanding when things don't go smoothly -- especially when it's clear that people are trying their best. That being said, there are limits, and we had a truly bad experience last night at the Rollin Fresh cart in Hawthorne Asylum (in contrast with a very good experience a year ago at the same cart). Last night, my wife ordered a masubi roll. We waited more than 20 minutes before being handed a box that was supposed to contain the masubi roll. We walked back to our car, only to discover, on reaching the car, that the box contained a different dish (nothing like a masubi roll). So we walked back to the Rollin Fresh cart in Hawthorne Asylum, and politely pointed out the error. We were given a one-word apology, and instructed to wait for the masubi roll to be prepared. We waited another ten minutes or so before being handed another box. We opened the box, and once again it contained the wrong order (hard to believe .... but true!) We handed back the box, and asked -- politely again -- for the masubi roll we had ordered. This time the woman inside the cart reached to the side, and immediately handed us a saran-wrapped masubi roll (which apparently had been sitting there for a while). And this time not even a one-word apology was offered. This episode, I think, justifies a one-star review. We may (or may not) give Rollin Fresh another chance in the future. If so, we will adjust the review and rating if appropriate -- but for now it's one-star all the way.

Read moreThere are couple of reasons why I am giving this place one star. I order the spam and Katsu musubi. I waited a couple of minutes at the window waiting to order. No one acknowledged me while I waited to say they’d be a minute, etc. I had to tell that I was there to order. It was only then when I said something that they came to the window and took my order. They offered a small apology saying they were filling some orders. I waited almost 20 minutes for my order. They never called my name. I had to go up to the window and ask if they had my order and they said yes, here it is. (A friend was with me and she never heard my name either) Come to think of it, they never even asked for my name... My order was a mess. The musubi(s) had little shape (not the traditional rectangle) and the Saran Wrap was all over the place with it. The Katsu was tough, small and tasted like it was burnt. I should have stopped eating then, but I was hungry. I ended up getting sick from the food.

Read moreThis location is great...as long as you don't need any modifications, substitutions, or extra sauce. The location I usually order from was closed so I ordered from here again after avoiding doing so for nearly a year because of this issue, and again they ignored ALL my requests. I even put the requests in all caps, and asked twice, so it'd be especially conspicuous when they made my food, but they don't seem to care. They assured me they were working on this issue over a year ago, but they seem to have made no improvement. Last time I called to complain about this they told me I could come by the next day to pick up the extra side sauce, but that completely misses the point of having food delivered.
I like the sushi burritos, and really like the sauces, but I will not be ordering from this...
