A hidden gem in the Southeast of Portland
This unassuming spot offers another take on the growingly popular Sushi Burrito craze that seems to be creeping up from California, with many staples including the Cheeto-covered burrito, and the Spider roll burrito. It also has a few non-sushi dishes to keep you entertained if sashimi is not your thing.
One of the few non-sushi dishes is particularly tasty, with a few varients of karaage, cuts of boneless and skinless chicken thighs powdered in potato starch and then fried, and rice in a bowl, with a change of toppings that comes with it.
My favorite in particular is the Sesame Chicken bowl, which comes with green onions, green bell peppers, and a tangy sauce. Each bite leaves me coming back for more and more. I find my body gives out long before my taste buds do, leaving me struggling not to overeat. All this for $9 is a steal in my book.
The only struggle is typical SE Portland parking. With any luck you only have to park a block away, but it's definitely not...
Read morei hate to leave bad reviews but this experience was really bad for me and my parents. we ordered miso ramen through uber eats and when it got here there was just broth, no noodles or meat or anything. we called wasabi and unfortunately the person on the phone didn’t speak great english and we couldn’t communicate our issue properly so that didn’t work. no offense to the worker but it just didn’t work. we filed a refund through uber eats and ordered again hoping to get if fixed. it got here and there was the same issue. the ticket just says “miso” and not ramen - so maybe there’s a new employee that doesn’t know that means miso ramen and not the soup? either way staff should be able to make ramen correctly and not mess it up twice. i’ve worked in fast food a lot before and i know food service can be tough but cmon. after 1 hour we decided to just get food somewhere else and wait for our refunds.
wasabi is usually great for the price and i love it, but sadly i will not be ordering for...
Read moreOrdered a catepillar roll, miso soup, and hot tea. Miso soup was ediable but flavorless. The roll was ice cold. Like the inner roll had been in the fridge predone and they just added the avacado on top. All I could taste was too much teriyaki sauce and cold. There were 2 of us (we both ordered the same thing) and we were the only ones there. It took 3 reminders and an hour to get tea. I kid you not. They were very nice when I first came in and were making a lot of go-to orders. There is self serve water, clean bathrooms, clean kitchen, clean tables but the silverware they use in the wasabi and ginger don't fit so they are just exposed to the air all day thus dried out. Will not return because of lackluster food and its inexcusable to take that long to get the drinks- which...
