Woke up this morning. It was rough. Wanted a vegan burrito, a good one. I don't normally eat burritos.
Went online and found this food cart that had 4.7 stars, never heard of it. Decided to give it a try. Showed up and there were two people in line in front of me. There was slender man at the window taking orders in a red Marlboro hat, centered-parted hair to his solders, and a cuffed flannel shirt. A Portland gentlemen to be sure.
The people in front of me asked "what am I missing?", the man in the Marlboro hat replied promptly "Grilled onions goes great with the chicken. Would you like any hot sauce with that?"
"Which would you recommend?" the customer asked. Without missing a beat, the man in the red Marlboro hat replied emphatically "the pineapple jalapeno goes best with our chicken, I know it sounds hot, but I would recommend". It did sound hot, and I began to sweat a little. It was clear to me then that this man was a connoisseur, a man of taste, and also a scholar of the highest order.
After placing my order, I received my burrito within 10 minutes. The man with the red Marlboro hat hand delivered me my burrito, looked me in the eyes and said "enjoy". It was in that moment after 20 years of struggle that my faith became actualized, and God emerged as a living reality for me.
I hurried back to my car so I could have a moment with my burrito in private. From the moment I opened the foil, I knew it was the real deal. The tortilla was soft, tender, supple, and just slightly charred from the grill. When I took my first bite, I was met with a symphony of perfectly grilled zucchini, red-bell pepper, and yellow squash, perfectly balanced with a tangy fresh pico de gallo, and a delightful house made pepper sauce. The tortilla was both chewy and flaky, like a fresh baguette. The juices from the sauce was there, but not enough the run down my hands and make a mess.
I closed my eyes and fell back in my seat as I chewed. At once I was in my childhood bed, the sun just setting through my lofted dusty window. I felt my mother stroking my hair as she sang to me. I wept.

Read moreWow. Mind blowingly good. I don't know that I've ever written a review this fast after eating before, but that was one of the best burritos I've ever eaten, if not THE best. I've walked by this place several times on my way home from work and finally stopped in today to see if the hype was real.
I was super tempted by the yellowfin burrito, but your girl was hung over and needed cheese, which would have been weird to add to the tuna, so I ended up with a carnitas burrito with guac and cheese and a yellowfin tuna taco. Both were outstanding. It's rare that I can eat a burrito without some hot sauce, but the flavors are so developed and excellent in their food that it didn't need it. HOWEVER - I got their hottest salsa and it was insane. Genuinely very hot, super flavorful, but not overpowering to the other flavors, just a bright, citrusy salsa with heat to spare. The yellowfin taco was also delicious and unexpected. I'm absolutely trying the burrito next time.
10 out of 5, eat this, you won't be disappointed, and...
Read moreTL;DR: the Yellowfin Tuna Burrito is a religious experience you need to go through. I was looking for a place to have a bite after climbing and asked someone leaving the gym with me for a recommendation. She pulled one of those all bookmarked google maps and I knew I asked the right person. She suggested that I come here if I was on the go or wanted good atmosphere and she was 100% right. Staff is very friendly and the vibe of the area is very cool. I was not sure what to order and by pure chance I ordered the Yellowfin Tuna Burrito because it stroke me as the most special thing, and I was right. The tuna is marinated on Tamari and it gives it the perfect flavor; on top of it, all the elements of the burrito blend together perfectly… you have rice, cabbage, green onions, and veggies blended together with crema and guacamole… this was a soul-healing nearly-religious experience. I wish i had a pic of the Burrito but it didn’t last long...
