Big Sky is easy to overlook. Situated near the Dunkin Donuts on busy Forest Ave, Big Sky takes residence inside an old firehouse. Inside, there is an open kitchen and bakery, and a decent amount of dine-in seating.
Though Big Sky is primarily a bakery; you can buy bread, pastries, and coffee from their in-house stock - they also sell made-to-order sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch, as well as soups and salads.

Read moreBig sky is something of a love/hate relationship in my household. The convenience factor is high, as we live nearby and the prices are fair. Yet, as some others have noted, there exists what I like to refer to as an "attitude problem".
Again, the food is good, the bread and bakery items tasty, and the breakfast sammies are just right (the only real weak link here is the coffee, which is just passable). But it's rarely worth the aggravated sighs and consternation that one must endure to enjoy such offerings.

Read moreI was torn between rating this spot four and five stars. They bill themselves as a bread company and in that I think they excel. There's all sorts of options to choose from and they're all wonderful. I've continued to come here for years if only for that.
Beyond the bread, however, things can be a little more hit or miss. Their chocolate chip cookies aren't really a style I enjoy, the lunch sandwiches are often good but not great.
