Read moreMy girlfriend and I visited recently for a weekend afternoon date. Probably not the best of ideas, due to the high number of families with unattended children.
The ordering process seemed easy enough. Ordered food, beers and gameplay for two, figuring we'd eat first, then play. We were told to drop off our meal ticket at a window, and that's when I realized that there is no actual kitchen, it's just a food truck.
We sat outside while we waited for our food, which was a couple of pretzels and wings. The pretzel wasn't all that great, but the wings were ok, with decent sauce. The beers we ordered were ok, too, with one being a house-branded IPA. Nothing too spectacular, but it got the job done.
Mini golf is $10 per person, but the online score card was a bit finicky to operate (it kept erasing our scores), so I wish we had a physical card to complete, which could have then served as a keepsake of sorts.
The course seemed challenging enough, and decently-built, but with the families and kids running around, it was a bit frustrating. The unattended kids would pretty much run wherever they wanted, play the holes however they wanted, etc. I get that kids are just having fun, and trying to wrangle them is akin to herding cats, but I am a paying customer as well, and would like to be able to enjoy myself just like anyone else.
Also, some kids had a habit of hitting the ball as hard as they could, resulting in golf balls flying all over the place; I imagine there's been some unfortunate and unintended errant balls striking patrons in this place just based upon my 2-hour experience.
I'd go again, but would prefer there be a non-family time, and would likely...
Read moreThe only reason that I’m deducting a star on my review is due to the location of this establishment and the fact that the food cart on the inside was out of their vegetarian option foods. They are located in a pretty rough area of Portland and unfortunately there is no dedicated parking lot for the building. My girlfriend and I met here with a friend for some beers and fun. We had a great time while in the building. The staff and atmosphere were amazing and the beer was great. The mini golf course was small, but challenging enough to make it fun. Unfortunately, the potato tacos, something my vegetarian girlfriend was looking forward to, along with the tots were out. This left only a Caesar salad and Quesadilla available for her to eat along with some fries. Not what we had intended, but still good. Finally, when we left the building to go to my friends car, who had parked on the street, it was broken into and things were stolen out of his car. I DO NOT fault the establishment for this whatsoever, and he could have parked in the paid lot. However, when you are going out to a place for some fun, it’s always nice when it has a dedicated lot. Location: 2/5 Food: 4/5...
