Excellent and unique wine selection. Moderately priced so go ahead and get the meat AND cheese board. The mushroom tartine is perfect, my friends and I order one each time we come. Manuel and Trevor are actual sommeliers, something surprisingly uncommon in a lot of wine shops/restaurants in Portland. Their picks are so reliable we usually don't order a specific glass or bottle, we ask them to "surprise us." We also order boxes of red and white delivered to our home, the delivered wines are usually so delicious we end up at the wine bar eager to have more. It takes opening the door only to be transported from an average Portland street to a fine-lounge-in-France ambiance, complete with art exhibits by local artists. Vino Veritas has an impressive wine selection on the menu, and even more so by the bottle. Impressive not necessarily in sheer number, but in quality-for-the-price factor. Clearly, the owners are very selective and know their wines! Vino Veritas is the wine staple every city should strive to be. The service feels family owned not only because the owner and his 2 wine sommeliers (Trever and Miguel) are insanely knowledgeable about every detail, wine and food pairings but also because there is barely a time we visit when we don’t get treated with extras (the way you do when you get seated to a 7 course meal).
