I went there just a few months ago just to order a to go Spring Rolls. Very nice when it opened. Just a few months later and it's now a Overpriced DUMP. I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this place for Thai cuisine.
What is worse I was told that Tom yum or tom yam is CHINESE, & NOT a family of hot and sour Thai soups. (︶︹︶) Wut?
It was the rudeness that really got me. And this is odd as I have had very good experiences before. I'm known for often tipping at more than 100% since I get treated so well around here and love the extra care to remember my drinks or how I like my coffee. Same here. BUT LORD has this place went down hill.
I can not believe I paid over $25 with 25% gratuity FOR SOME SOUP TO GO. ( 0 _ 0 )
Oh but it gets worse. Take a look at the photos / Videos This is how much you get, and THE CONTAINER LEAKS.
The weird thing is that they don't even give you napkins for that $18.00 3/4 full soup they give you to go.
Is this a cocktail or a soup? Shrimp still has the ends / Tails on it IN A SOUP... And the shrimp is tuff.
The other items they put on it are cut in a way where it even feels sharp in your mouth when you eat it. Very nasty texture.
The Shrimp soup that was recommended by the tallest Thai person I have ever seen felt more like Slop then soup.
HOWEVER, if you strain it, it does taste quite okay, and is a bit sweet. But do not eat it like a traditional soup if you choose to go there. (Not for me but you do you)
Just so I make sure I make it clear, Thailand is well-known for its hot and sour soup, which is called Tom Yum. Tom Yum is a popular and iconic dish in Thai cuisine, featuring a balanced blend of spicy, sour, sweet, and salty flavors.
It's often served with noodles or rice, and variations include Tom Yum Goong (shrimp) and Tom Yum Gai (chicken).
I have included these photos from Google that shows you Tom Yum Goong (Shrimp Soup) And see if it looks ANYTHING like the photos of what I paid $25 bucks for.
I did not include the video, but I will later but take a look at the chairs and tables outside. They are missing parts from them....
Read moreMy first and second experience was really good. Great food and friendly service so I keep going back and tell friends about it. However, the third time experience was a different story.
Coconut noodle soup was one of the items I ordered. First time she brought the food, the soup tastes amazing but then I realized there's no noodle and checked several times before giving my feedback. She retrieved it and supposed to fix it. When the food was delivered again, there's noodle but it's overcooked and the broth tastes differently. I gave it a few more bites to try, I decided to let the same waitress know. She gave me the same story the second time she served the noodle soup that there was noodle originally and after they checked, she sent it back right away. No matter how I explained it doesn't tastes right and I'm pretty sure there wasn't noodle in the first place cause I checked several times, she still wouldn't admit they made a mistake. She did take out the item from my order but her attitude is not ok. Instead, the chief is very friendly the whole time and I appreciate it. Also, there's some kind of beeping noise appears from time to time during my stay which I didn't notice from previous visit.
I will go back again FOR THE FOOD and hopefully the service will be improved and no...
Read moreAs soon as I walked through the door, I could hear Jen greeting me, and she was so welcoming. When I asked how long they had been open, she informed me that it was their fifth week and also let me know about their other locations and their hours. I come to PDX frequently and stay at the Aloft hotel, which is about a 5-minute walk from here. I love Thai food, so I was pleasantly surprised when a friend told me they had opened!
I ordered my usuals: Thai iced tea, salad rolls with chicken, and chicken Pad See Ew. Jen immediately brought out my Thai iced tea with the perfect tea-to-cream ratio, and within minutes, the salad rolls arrived. The rolls came with peanut sauce and another green sauce. I'm not sure what the green sauce was, but it was creamy and delicious (I forgot to ask what it was, but it was amazing)! Next was my main course, Pad See Ew. I would say the presentation was awesome, and the noodles had to be the freshest I've ever had in that dish! The flavor was spot on and probably the best I've ever eaten.
If you live or work near Cascade Station, please eat here! It's the newest location, and I want to make sure they have plenty of business so they stick around for a long time. I know I'll be eating there every time I...
